$210 divide by ($5+$2) = 30
so each pair of 2u is 15, and each u becomes 7.5

Let's take a look at the question again:
the number of $5 notes that gopal has is 1/3 the number of $2 notes. the number of $10 notes is 1/2 the number of $2 notes. after spending all the $10 notes and 2/3 of the $2 notes, gopal had $210 left. How much did she spend altogether?
Gopal is left with $210.
Spent --> ALL $10 notes, 2/3 of $2 notes
Left --> ALL $5 notes, 1/3 of $2 notes
Given: the number of $5 notes is equal to 1/3 of $2 notes.
So the number of $5 notes left is equal to the number of $2 left.
Consider 1 x $5 note and 1 x $2 note --> total $7
$210 (total left) / $7 = 30 --> 30 groups of (1 x $5 note and 1 x $2 note)
ie 30 x $2 notes left --> this is 1/3 of the total number of $2 left
Therefore, total number of $2 notes at first --> 30 x 3 = 90
Total spent = $10 x 90/2 + 2 x 30 x $2 = $570

If 1/3 were roses, that means 2/3 were lilies and daisies. That mean shat there are 48 x 2/3 = 32 lilies and daisies. If there were 4 more lilies than daisies, that means that there were 14 daisies and 18 lilies. If she wants the daisies to equal half of the basket i.e. 48 x 1/2 = 24, she should buy 24 - 14 = 10 more lilies

New total --> 1 unit + 48 --- this is twice the number of daisies
so, 1 unit + 48 = 2 units + 28
1 unit --> 20
May should buy 20 more daisies.

the question could be solved in a quicker way, using the concept of constant difference/gap.
The difference in total number of daisies and total number of flowers = 48 - 14 = 34
When additional daisies are bought, the same number is added to the total and to the number of daisies --> so, the difference will remain the same.
In the end, the total number of flowers = 2 x number of daisies
since the difference is 34, the total number in the end = 34 x 2 = 68
additional number of daisies to be purchased = 34-14 = 20.
