      Studious Alien:
I know that someone else posted this a few pages back on this thread but there were not many responses to it, so I would like to post that questions again : Have you/your DC been given a sticker with the school logo on it to be pasted on the calculator and dictionaries? Also, can we stick the sticker over another sticker which states the model no. and a very long string of other numbers and letters?

      Regards,
      Studious Alien
In my DD's school, it doesn't need to put sticker.

Yes.No sticker,no calculator/dictionary! As for the other question,I think you can, but why don't you play safe?

I can't play it safe even if I want to for one of my e-dictionaries as the sticker with the model number if the only place available. I feel that it is alright as the model number is also shown somewhere else on the e-dictionary. However, I can never be too sure.

That's interesting. I thought every student who is bringing in calculators and/or dictionaries should stick the stickers on them as it says \"Approved for Use In PSLE 2012\" I feel that you should check with your DC's school JIC

Teachers in my school also said,\"NO STICKER,YOU CAN FORGET ABOUT BRING IN ANY ELECTRONIC DEVICES SUCH AS YOUR CALCULATOR AND DICTIONARY!\" I was like :yikes: when I first heard it. They also said that if the students bring the devices(w/o stickers), names will most likely be in the discrepancy list. Better keep fingers crossed and hope nothing goes wrong on the actual day. :xedfingers: 🙏

Hi Studious Aliens, the certification exercise completed for my DD’s school. You may wish to follow-up with the school.

My son brought his calculator to school for that precious sticker...he told me only one calculator allowed for use...asked him to bring 2  no choice, kiasu and kiasi. As for the e-dictionary, son told me it is approved model and so no sticker necessary. In any case, I will ask him to bring extra batteries.

Gosh :nailbite: the countdown begins. 😓

                    Hi lakshmi,

I believe what Janet is referring to is Chinese e-dictionary 😄

Seriously, I do not understand the discrepancy in school practices on this. After reading the posts here, I wrote to my dd's FT on whether the school has to verify the students' calculators and e dictionaries and to paste stickers. She replied no stickers are needed and the teachers had already verified during the prelim exam.

My dd can bring two calculators and e dictionaries into the exam.

Stickers are not necessary if your child's calculator is the same model as his or her classmates. As long as you are using those models approved & recommended by the MOE.
