Alan8 - Is your girl registering P1 next year? Or are you transferring her from somewhere else? For P1 school registration, they have open house in Jul. Otherwise, you may like to arrange with the school for a tour or something? May be a good idea to have a ‘feel’ of the school, on top of what you have heard.

Alan8:
Hi, do you see any concerns in the recent drop of their academic performance ?

Tamil 80.0%
ii)

Science 53.5%
Malay 91.1%
Tamil 88.9%
iii)
2011
HGS didn't post her 2011 PSLE figures explicitly on school website.
However if refer to bar chart pattern indicated, compared to 2010 PSLE results:-
- 2011 Chinese had improved.
- but her three subjects (English, Maths, Science) standard had dropped.
may pose this concern to Haig Girls’ Principal, at forthcoming P1 Orientation.
Alternatively, may contact school arrange an appointment for a school tour, bring you around.
Then address your concern(s) on the spot.

phtthp - thanks for the very useful info.

think this is a good reminder to parents that results is not everything (below extracted from the principal's speech):
\"Always remember that the process of character building, of learning to be self-disciplined, responsible and resilient is more important than the results you will get for PSLE. We also want you to know that, no matter what results you get for your PSLE, we still love you and will always be proud of you. Do not let your PSLE results define who you are or how you feel about yourself. You are much more than your results.\" -

Mummy Lynn:
This year GMPS might not even required any balloting.
As of this morning, out of 129 registered only 93 are SC (mixed of those staying 2km away).
Based on last year PSLE results:
Passed & posted to Sec Sch: 97.5%
Eligible for Express: 51.7%
Hello,
I would like to point out that the percentage given above for \"Eligible for Express\" is incorrect. The correct percentage as stated in the school memo is 63.9%. -

In phase 2C (for child registered in 2012 for P1 in 2013), balloting is required for PR residing within 1-2 km. -

They used to have Haig Boys School.
