Went to kidzania with my son, ended up only going around as the staff didn’t speak English and couldn’t really understand malay. Food wise, many variety of restaurant, but I went to the familiar name; I.e crystal jade, din dai fung. Other places mentioned above (sea world, waterboom, tam an safari) was not suitable as it was filthy. And people smoking everywhere I went to. Basically, keep it indoor and you’ll be ok.

        Hi Pampers:

Can you advise me on Kidzania, will be bringing my kiddos to try out this place this coming December. How do you rate it out of 10?

In general, how safe / secure is JKT?

Is it okay to travel by taxis / cab?

How is Waterbom? Is it worth going?

        Hope to hear from you!

        Thanks!

I bought my 2 gals - (5 & 6 years old) to kidzania too and they enjoyed it immensely comparing to the beijing version of Be Ru Shi Jie. You just have to let the staff know that your child only understand english and they will speak english to them.

They acted as policeman, fireman, infant caregiver, nurse, dentist, dancer, driver and etc. The staffs are pretty friendly and helpful. However, suggest you go on weekdays as its cheaper and longer hours, probably less queue time too.

We went to tam an safari too. Its really eye opener and close up view with the animals even tigers, lions and etc. The gals enjoyed feeding the animals like giraffes, goats, deers and etc.

Hope you have fun in Jakarta but keep lots of snacks with you on journey. The traffic jam is unbearable…

Thanks![/quote]I signed up a 3D2N package + 2N extension. Our hotel is Luxton Hotel along Jalan Dago, but not walking distance to the factory outlets. The package include a day tour to Tengkuban Perahu , Ciator Hot Spring , and some factory outlets.

The 3rd day we rented a car from http://www.muliarental.com/ , to visit kawah Putih - beautiful crator lake
strawberry farm - not \"professionally\" run but the kids still enjoy the picking process
A deer farm (within a resort) - the resort is very run down with only a few deers. Not so worth it.
The rest of the day we went to more factory outlets and kartikasari (famous for their brownies and cookies).

4th day, we spent the whole day at Bandung Transtudio. We went there by bluebird taxi. The kids enjoy most here. Indoor Theme Park with lots of rides. There is also mini science center here.

It would be good if someone in your group can speak Malay , as not many people here can speak English well.

My family just came back from a 3 days holiday in Bandung last week, the weather was perfect there's no rain it was about 20 degree in the morning and evening and 25 degree during the day so it was quite nice for us Singaporean.

We visit the Trans Studio Mall, it's an indoor theme park with many rides which really excite the kids, the next day we head North of Bandung to the Tangkuban Perahu volcanic crater and Ciater hot spring afterwards. The third day it was good time for us to go shopping in Dago and Riau street, we visit Rumah Mode on the way back from our second day travel.

Stayed at Gino Ferruci hotel in Braga street, a new hotel right at the middle of the city so it's really convenience to get around. The food in Bandung is always delicious, you should treat yourself to Sundanese food while you are in there do order fried gourame fish they are yummy and kids love it as well.

Since we only have 3 days in Bandung we really think it is important for us to be as efficient as possilble in spending our time, we don't need headache from having to deal with unreliable taxi driver and public transportation.
It was this http://muliarental.com we use, their service is wonderful their driver wait for us while we shop and even help us with our bags.

All in all, Bandung was a really nice travelling experience for our family and I sincerely recommend it for your next holiday.
