      Mychildren:
      Otah:

Yah, exercise, avoid seafood,.......experts say so, but so much effort and yet seems no tangible result. Hope anyone here can share your best effective way(s) to see result within a short time span.

      Otah,
Do try this. Eating raw white onion who you wake up. One small ring per day.
Continue for few months and get your cholesterol check. But your stomach don't feel so good after eating. Its kind of strong with an empty stomach. It works. 😉

How to eat raw onion every day? Once in a while still OK. It is easier to eat oatmeal every day. It helps to reduce bad cholesterol. Don't forget to avoid high cholesterol food. I don't think cholesterol can be reduce within a short time span. Unless with the help of medication.

Personally, I take fish oil pill, in particular ‘double fish strength’ from GNC. Due to busy work schedule I did not exercise regularly. The pills help to maintain the cholesterol level in the healthy zone.

fish oil is worst. it is an oil which increase the cholesterol. Take enzymes, to break down lipid and protease.

When I ask around for cholesterol reducing diet, well meaning friends always point me to oat, soymilk and black fungus (need not be eaten together). My uncle who studies TCM also recommends oat and black fungus.

I myself have elevated bad cholesterol and have been adjusting my diet since then. Doctor says no point checking cholesterol level too regularly as the reading wont fluctuate very much. 2x a year is probably enough.

I gathered good info from this link
                    http://theconsciouslife.com/how-i-lower-cholesterol-without-drugs.htm

Also, as ks parents, we need to mind our stress level. Stress contributes to bad cholesterol. Recent newspaper article says to reduce bad lipids, we need to look into -

                    1. diet
                    2. exercise
                    3. stress management (new to me)

My friend's hubby who is a vegetarian and exercise buff has v high cholesterol. He is very stressssed up with work and kids' exam. Yoga and meditation can help i think. But I do the kiddo version - deep breathing.

                    Wish you well
