      LOLMum:
the table and chair have been with us for more than 5 years (both went to foreign land with us and back) ...both are still in good condition (no peeling etc). haha..some pen marks on table which is inevitable 😓

got them from the store next to the teochew restuarant at centrepoint.

I believe is Kinderfun cos I just went last night at Centrepoint. But it just got me worry when they only offer 1 yr warranty whereas the rest 3 or 5 yrs though the saleslady kept emphasizing that their quality is superb and hardly any problem.

i cant remember the length of warranty for mine but i dont think we have any problem with the set.

in fact one or two of the brands mentioned in this thread are foreign to me  . thus no comments on any brand from me...

oops, the chair is actually a cushioned one (so doesnt peel .....haha).

is there a possibility the materials used now are a bit more inferior than before? could still be the same material but mine is a good solid table.

imo, a normal desk is good enough for the kids to do their work. but dh likes the set (and boy it wasnt cheap at the time of purchase definitely over $1k :faint: ).

you might want to consider getting a 2nd hand set (i am not selling mine though).

earlier this week i went for lunch and i saw a new shop in wheelock place 3rd floor. it's called ergokid and they carry the Moll desks, the same german brand as crosscom. the quoted prices are lower and I was told it's the new official prices from the manufacturer. the prices are still high but the products are a class above any of the brands mentioned in this thread.

their website is http://www.ergokid.com and you can also check their facebook as well http://www.facebook.com/ergokid and apparently they have a wide range of ergonomic school bags too.

            Hi! Junemum72,

How was your trip to Atwood? Have you decided on the brand you are getting? I’m looking around too and still can’t decide yet.

              Hi

I have similar set as what lolmum have. I think I got it during promotion at $1000. At that time, only crosscom and kinderfun in the market. Crosscom is from Germany - very ex- $2k plus to 3k plus.
My set last me more than 8 years. My boy is still using it . So it is definitely worth the $$.

Haha I didnt go in the end. My friends and colleagues asked me why i have to spend so much on a table. We grew up without them and we are ok now..haha

So i still have not got a table for him..lol

We do have a computer table and he is currently using it now...at least for the time being till the time when we are ready to willingly spend on such table..

hi, ergokid is having their grand opening this saturday at wheelock place on orchard road, so you may want to visit them as they're having a children's day/official opening promotion. they sell moll desks, the same one as crosscom. apparently, they're the new official retailer of moll in singapore and now with two moll retailers, prices quoted are much lower than before when crosscom had monopoly. :congrats:

I've just started researching ergonomic desks and chairs for my son, and found this thread interesting, so I thought I would add my 2 cents.

From what I can see from the advertisemet from Atwood, their Stanford Deluxe desk seems to be the Kuang Shin DC-206 Descartes Series. The Oxford Deluxe desk seems to be the Kuang Shin DF-502 Duke Series. No promises- this is just my observation.

If you go to the Kuang Shin website, you can get a more detailed description of the products to help you decide. Hope this helps some of you.

Hey DaddyDo, thanks for sharing the information. I've also been doing some homework. I saw Kinderfun in Centrepoint and Ergokid in Wheelock Place. Kinderfun sells Harvard, Yale and Cambridge desks... quite tacky names I would say hahaha. Ergokid sells the original German Moll brand.

                      http://www.kinderfun.com.sg

                      http://www.ergokid.com

I actually found out that kinder fun products are indeed from Taiwan http://www.tayhuah.com.tw/ although the sales aunties there kept insisting that it is assembled in Singapore and all the materials are from USA and Germany. I find this rather disturbing because by law businesses are required to accurately disclose the country of origin of their products. If that is not the case, then it becomes a case of misrepresentation.

Having said that the Kinderfun desks are of good quality, far better than the Kuangshin. But they also tend to be quite heavy. The chairs looks sophisticated but they are really heavy. My friend commented that the chair tended to damage the parquet flooring over time. In any case, although the desks are of good quality I find them quite steep in price. They are almost the same price as the mid-range Moll desks. It wouldn't make sense to buy a kinder fun when you can get a good Moll desk for the similar prices. My eyes however are on the new Champion Moll desk, although it's more expensive. It's quite nice and fit nicely in my house interior. But I'm a bit concerned if my kids can take care of a white desk. I have bad experiences with my white Italian leather sofa already.

Oh by the way, I didn’t like the attitude of the sales aunties… I visited their showroom in centrepoint and when I called a couple of times a few days later to clarify certain things… they asked me why I calling twice… and asked me in a condescending way if I’m from Philippines. I do have an accent and I don’t hail from the Philippines. I just thought that was very bad customer service. When I called the UE Square shop, the lady was much better and friendlier.
