Kissgurami:
Hands up! I am thinking of furthering as well and saving up. Priority is to concentrate of relocating first before I embark on it.verykiasumummy:
wow so no one is thinking of furthering their studies except me izit??
poor me... no one is here to give me advice....
Go for it! :rahrah:
I did my part-time degree when I was preggie with DD2 and DD1 was 1 year old. Sleep and weekends were burnt. I did my exam 3 days after giving birth and during confinement  (it didnt go down well with elders  )
It won't be easy but when you get that piece of paper, you will find it so worthwhile
Which uni woudl you be going for?
Wow.... you win!! I thot my \"doing 2 degree at one go was tough\" but this was when my kids were 3 and 6 -
mums, i'm thinking of studying again in 2014. This time for a Masters. Just thinking at this stage

Lynn2010 & Verykiasumummy,
:salute: for having the courage and willing to put in the effort to further your studies. The last time I took my masters was donkey years ago before my kids even come along, and boy, was I glad I finished all my studying by then else I really doubt I would even consider having my masters. Raising a family really take up a lot of time, effort and $$ :moneyflies:
Now I have to consider taking up a professional certificate, but the thought of studying really make me :faint: I wonder :scratchhead: if I have the stamina for pushing through all the mugging and the exams :scared:
:nailbite: but this may be a case of \"no choice\" have to \"get it done\"

For me it is kind of "hobby". Must also set good examples for the kids mah… huo dao lao xue dao lao
Actually my kids also salute me! Not only that… i share what i learn with my kids…
In fact, i always tell them… if i can do it, so can you. -

i'm not going for any government uni, this sma opposite bras basah is the first time i hear of them... do u hv any advice? how to chk if their courses are recognised?
verykiasumummy,
whatever you do, pls make sure the degree is recognised. Otherwise you are wasting your time and $ doing it. I am unsure if there is a statutory board that can confirm if your degree is recognise by them. if stat board recognises it, I suppose it should be fine. Make sure you do your due diligence and not trust the private school's comments.
I cleared my professional paper just before my 1st child arrive. I recalled going to JB for a revision paper as a famous UK lecturer was conducting revision classes there. Did that when I was heavily pregnant as I wanted so badly to clear a particular paper.... Fortunately I did it....
Contemplated doing a MBA couple of years ago on co. sponsorship. Comes with a bond... well not bad huh given that job is insecure nowadays... But at this point of life (with a P5 and P4), I felt that I rather dedicate my time to their education. So what if I have a MBA, does that value add??? Probably makes no diff... Sometimes I thought maybe I will do it when they go to sec school.... but but... my P1 will be P4 by the time my no. 2 goes to sec 1. And there we go again.... -

Is there a statutory board that recognised qualifications in singapore? I dun think so. According to what i know, sg does not have a central authority for cert recognition.
Who can confirm this? -
i feel, unless u know that the company or the field u work recognise higher certification than what u r holding now… eg. pay more or have more chances of climbing higher than ur current position, else no point le…many cases i see is that company dont recognise their subsequent certification besides the one they used to apply the job…
and after kids came along, it’s hard, not say impossible to further studies… for me, if i have time, i rather spend on how to cook healthy/better food for kids, how to help them in facing all the challenges in studies/life…
moreover, company usually will give yearly courses in the field u r working on, these serves as value added "paper" to climb higher, or change to a better pay job…
