Just realised that come 2013, PLMGS will have a new principal, Ms Chua Soh Leng, currently from Punggol Primary.
Just when I thought I will have a chance to get to know the current Principal, Mrs Christine Ho.
I am already missing her… Now I wonder if she is retiring…
Anyone has any idea? -
angel:
She is retiring  and held on till the new principal will be around to take over. We are missing her and she has done so much for the school for 13 years  .Just realised that come 2013, PLMGS will have a new principal, Ms Chua Soh Leng, currently from Punggol Primary.

My DD1 is sad and keeps asking me why she has to retire so I am really hoping Miss Chua has that same motherly touch. -

Ms Chua Soh Leng will bring PLMGPS to greater heights. She has done quite a lot for Punggol Primary School and I believe she will inject some fresh ideas into the school.
Principals are key to shaping and strengthening the traditions and ethos of the schools. They lead and inspire teachers, and work with parents and the community to prepare our young for the future. As the front-line contact between MOE and the public and parents, Principals play an important role in furthering their understanding of school programmes and the education system.
The process of systematically appointing and rotating Principals allows schools to benefit from the infusion of fresh perspectives and enables experienced Principals to share best practices in support of ‘Every School, a Good School’. It also gives the Principals the opportunity to take on different challenges as part of their career development. -

No doubt about the upcoming Principal and what she has done before, and the value of rotating the principals. Think MOE has outlined it very clearly.
Nonetheless, can't stop the girls from feeling sad  , it is like a family member leaving home and she is also very close knitted to the PSG group hence it is tough not miss her :gloomy: -
For new P1 parents,
Thought to share that the P1 Maths Text Book aren’t available yet and it will be available during the orientation day onwards. Usually, it is rather crowded and packed on P1 orientation day.
If you are wondering what kind of stationery is required, the girls tend to use mechanical pencil from term 2 onwards so you can prep if you want to. -
Kissgurami:
My child is not from Punggol Primary, still young. I know of friends' children studying in Punggol Primary as well as friends' children studying in PLMGPS. I only hope PLMGPS those older traditional type of teachers do not continue their old practice of not allowing children to go for recess, asked the children to slap their own faces. Sorry to shock you but these were what I heard.
