      PhoBIA:
Henry Park's principal is transferred to white sands, will white sands become super hot too in next year's p1 registration?

this year at end of Phase 2C, for White Sands primary :-
the school has places only for SC children residing within 1km of the school. No balloting was conducted.

come next year July 2013 P1 registration -
now that Henry Park (GEP school) become White Sands new Principal to steer a new vision, leadership & direction, will Pasir Ris parents rush to enrol their 2014 P1 kids there, follow the star, heat up the school ? The reputation of White Sands primary will shoot up ! 😄

Just my two cents worth on this.

Wasn't Henry Park already \"popular\" even before this principal came on board with the school? To put it simply, this incoming principal rode on the popularity of Henry Park's name and not the other way round. Mrs Daphne Yeoh has done a lot for this school and so has Mrs Dhillon. Both these principals moved on to head brand new schools. Doesn't that tell you that the past principals can stand on their own two feet, and so can the school?

My take is that every school is a good school, regardless of it's leader. A head, without it's full complement of staff and school culture, is basically running an empty vessel.

I believe White Sands Primary is a good school, no matter what background the incoming principal hails from. And with that said, so are the other schools in Pasir Ris. As parents, we should know better than to focus on the wrong factors when choosing a place for our children.

Just heard from my girl’s form teacher, the new principle has removed parent meeting session. Only those kids have problem and they need to need to address the issue then they will arrange for the session.

            Which school is it? :scratchhead:

May be more appropriate for you to post it as the school's thread in the Parents' Networking Group.
