what's the story about?

I hope more women read more than just what popular media says..

here is a blog of a woman with a rare cancer, not breast tho..but her mother have breast cancer, both mother and daughter live with cancer with dignity.. breast cancer is not a death sentence its just the last ditch effort of one's body to wake us up to sort our priorities..

if I would go to a western doctor for breast issues specially, and if I wasnt too informed about breast cancer yet, I want a doctor who would give me options and who will not push me to make a decision abruptly, someone who will give you options and ask you to go home and discuss your options with people whose opinions you respect (even if the opinions are very hard to hear, but you know its worth pondering as it would have some grain of truth, and that person only have good intentions for you… and nothing more…not even your money or your affection)…


so that in the end, you know that you have made a decision not because of guerilla marketing but a thoughtfully made one…

always remember that as women, you are making health decisions not only for yourself but for your whole family… any wrong decision will impact them for life… so carefully think your options… and decide thoughtfully… decide based on…


1. first, do no harm (treatment and diagnostic options should do no harm, if its too good to be true, its worth researching)
2. it must be sustainable (after year 2, what next?)
3. it must not impact your quality of life, as quality of life in the first 2 years, have severe impact on your longevity …
4. it must also improve the health of your family (given that breast cancer will drain your pockets no matter what the treatment option is, you would spend your money to one which, not only heals you but also prevents this from happening from any member of your family)… your family will be your strength… if their strength is being drained, how to survive?
5. it has to be a solution that the whole family would be involved with… cancer is not a one woman fight… its a struggle for the whole family… so the solution should be family wide…

Anyone has any recent experiences with the breast specialists?
I am in my 20s and recently discovered a solid nodule, which Dr Joy Lee has mainly advised to remove surgically. I am finding it hard to acknowledge this fact and even more afraid of surgeries…

Would like to seek a 2nd opinion. Appreciate anyone to recommend?

Recently I've read a study about how chemotherapy can be harmful for patients with breast cancer (here, under the name \"Radiation therapy leaves the most dangerous cancer cells ‘alive’\": http://paseka.us/alternative-cancer/). It says, that radiation therapy for breast cancer kills approximately the half of cancer cells, but the remaining breast cancer cells are being transformed into even more aggressive and dangerous cancer stem cells that are far more resistant to treatments. I it true? Have any of you read or heard anything about it? One of my distant relatives have a stage 4 breast cancer, it's pretty bad, and I am looking for any possible information on the subject.
