mummy of 3:
Is it really difficult?
I would say no, not difficult in p1 and p2.
But in p3, more writing involved, in terms of compre, 造句. So my ds1, who doesnt read CL books at all, no longer sails through. But i think it'll be manageable if his word recognition is not so poor, haha. -
so sad ! DD Chinese result drop…

That sounds pretty reasonable and grounded to me. Good to have the foundation covered firstThis is the email that CL Teacher replied:
Hi,
XX obtained band 2 for Term 4 exam. Even though her Term 4 test paper scored better than Term 3, she still has the lowest marks in class. Students who do very well will be given the option to study Higher Chinese Language in Primary 2. Those who are given the option but choose not to take up will be in Enrichment class. Given XX's results, the probability of being given the option is low. However, the outcome will still depend on the overall result of the whole level. Those who are given the option to study Higher Chinese Language will receive the letter before school holidays.
From my observations, I would not advise XX to take up Higher Chinese Language even if she is given the option. She has lower self confidence compared to her classmates in CL class and is rather reliant on her classmates to provide her with answers. I worry that she may struggle in Higher Chinese Language class which is quite fast paced. It would do her good to build up her self-confidence first.
Utimately, the choice is still yours.
Thank you for your time.
Regards,
Mdm Soon -
