DS did not pass his Maths. I don’t even know how to begin P5 revision to build him up again, not to mention how to battle P6 syllabus and face the pressure cooker next year:( He is so disappointed with himself and my heart aches…a lot to see him so beaten up.
Just started on his fourth tutor, can only hope for the best. Just voicing out here but trying hard to put up a positive front to continue cheering him on. -

I can sense that he has been trying hard. P5 covers most of the PSLE topis. Try to find out which topics he does not understand & focus on those topics. Make good use of the school holidays to pick up. Give himDS did not pass his Maths. encourage & praise him for
trying & for every small improvement he makes. -
Dd didn’t do well in Math too - dropped to 77 from 83 (SA1). Her Chinese is worse - 63.5/90. The irony of it all is these two subjects she has tuition. While the other two subj Eng & Science - no tuition and she did well. I don’t know how to help already. Quite desperate coz next year is PSLE.

Sorry to jump in...but do give your child lots of encouragement when he/she goes to P6. Teachers will push like crazy. Sit down with your son and ask him which area he needs help. Son flunked math overall in p5 bcos his ca1 and sa1 pulled him down. At p6, the big picture is PSLE, not that prelim is not impt but look ahead.DS did not pass his Maths. Can’t sleep at night, eyes are wide open thinking of what is the next step. Keeps reminding myself PSLE is the big picture…hopefully things will turn around.
Thank you all for your encouragement! To other parents who are facing similar situations, let’s keep our spirits up! FOR OUR KIDS! -

hey happyheart, it's early for your son to think of sec school now...hubby's colleagues kept bugging him way before psle which schools we are aiming for... super :siao: it's not that i want and i will get it, lots of factors involved.
my son got a little panicky of late...psle results will be out pretty soon. i told him I SAW the effort he put in, and that is important...of course i do wish he did very well so that he will be motivated to work harder when he moves to secondary school...but i didn't say this.
