What is it about problem sums that she does not understand ?
Is her addition and subtraction alright? Does the problem sums include multiplication and division too?
Is her reading and comprehension level ok? Are there mathematical terms in the problem sums that she does not understand? -
micollh:

not for RGPS P1 Maths.
this year even uptill 2012 P1 Term 4 - RGPS hasn't introduced Modeling yet.
school will intro in P2.
so tell your girl - P1 no stress.
but other schools like Pei Chun (on) - Yes !
Pei Chun (PC) introduced simple Modeling to P1 kids, around April.
PC even asked P1 parents to go down attend Maths Parents workshop.
The Maths teachers taught parents P1 modeling basic concepts. -
Seriously, going thru the thread… I realised that its the parents (for my case) that needs to go for tutition in order to teach the children their school work…
i see the homework, my K1 brings home… I already cringed… cant imagine P1! -
