I was comparing both magazines (diff issues). Editorial consultants hv changed but the English Lang editior of Young Scientists is now with Science Adventure.

With these changes, is Young Scientists still as good as the previous issues as when
the english editor was still with them? Those who hv issue 122 of Young Scientists, and Science Adventure, what do u think? I only hv Science Adventure.

I read through Science Adventure, find it ok. Issue 122, level 3 covers energy which is covered in P6. However, my sons do not like the illustration.
My children are very very disappointed with the Issue 122 Science Adventure as compare with the previous Young Scientists. We had subscribed Young Scientist level 1, 2, 3 for the past 3 yrs and level 4 for a year. My children enjoyed Young Scientists very much and had repeated reading over and over again without fail.

However, for the new Science Adventure level 1 to 3, they are so sad and disappointed and they don't enjoy. Both my children didn't even complete reading the whole books. They told me that they are not interesting at all in terms of the characters and descriptions. They also dislike the way the magazines are presented.

Sigh.....they told me not to subscribe anymore........

Is there a level 4 for Young Scientists?

Browse your website, only saw level 1 to 3

          What is your subscription/renewal rate?
Yes, Young Scientist level has been introduce this year. Suppose to target at P5 to Sec 2 readers. But its style of presentation is different from level 1 to 3. Most like the Science Adventure. I think the original YS has only 3 level. The level 4 YS is actually SA.

I think the topics cover by SA are OK, a lot of facts given. Maybe the kids prefer YS of presentation, which is more fun & interesting. The characters in YS are also funnier & more adorable. YS is more appealing to younger kids compare to SA.

Just received the Science Adventure Mags. Asked kiddos if they liked it. Both said no. Prefer YS. They say SA too dry, YS more interesting. SA has a lot of facts in there but they prefer YS’s presentation. So guess I will stick to YS for them.

                  Hihi,

I did not subscribe to the young scientist 2012.. Any idea how I can get the full set? I used to get them at popular but now they only carry the new ones 😞
Maybe you can call young scientists to enquire. You should be able go to their office to purchase past issue of YS magazines. Have you try to place an order with popular.

                        Is this magazine change management?

My kids do not like the new issues anymore, asked me not to subscribe 2013 issues.
