I think NYPS did well this year.

About 40 obtained 270 and above.

Close to 50% (if I remember correctly about 47% to 48%) of cohort scored >=250.

NYPS takes in 75-100 pupils from GEP enrollment each year.

Even after deducting 240 - 100, we still have about 140 mainstream scoring >=250.
Like what Yien Mummy Yien said, nothing to be proud of. Just sharing the figures and anyone can interpret as they like.

So at least it is somehow a comfort for small fish to survive in big pond. The fact big fish will not survive due to some reasons.

My son has been a small fish in a big pond...despite the difficulties, he got into express stream...no offence to anyone ok?

So if he can eventually be a big fish in a small pond, that would boost his confidence.

Many things can be reversed in secondary school and your boy can write his own chapter then. Within my circle, there were kids who had been hothoused into top schools and some had crashed out prematurely from the system, lagged behind in the working world or ended up self-destroying themselves. Some of these outcomes cannot be reversed.

There are also kids who went to schools which better matched their natural abilities and with strong emotional support enjoyed the experience and developed themselves well. There are very important skills necessary in the real world which cannot be developed by spending all the time on books.

It is a very fine line separating 得与失. It is too early to tell and sometimes, with the benefit of hindsight, it may be for the better. Everyone walks a different path.

some parents like to put their child in this competitive environment.
Other parents do not.

my ds scored 257+3

I am thinking of
1. HCI
2. ACS(I)
3. SJI(IP)
4. CHS(IP)
5. SJI (O)
6. CHS (O)
What is the chance of getting into HCI. Please share your views. Thank you
This year COP will be higher than last year due to 3000 more kids sat for PSLE. Since his score is +2 compare to last year's COP. He will have 50% of getting into HCI. You can also consider VS if you stay in the east.
