hello. I've put Cedar as my second choice with aggregate 252. Do I still stand an equal chance of getting in despite it being my second choice? Will the COP increase? Thank you
IP or O level? -
Then chance is almost 100%.

Hi onion-potato, may I know your first choice because I am torn between cedars and st nicks. Thank you very much!

Dunman High is my first!Cedar and St. Nic both are good schools, but I honestly don't like St. Nic so I didn't add it to my choices. Maybe you should put Cedar as first since COP is higher. But it's up to you xD

my dd took and passed her piano exams from sec 1-3, though i must say it was a real struggle trying to find time to practice. really need a lot of discipline and sacrifices (and nagging). i know of her friends who also finished grade 8 while in cedar. each year gets more difficult because of greater commitment and less available time.Hi to all parents and students of Cedar,
Do you find your school stressful? will my daughter still have time for piano practice, thinking of joing u, t score 253. Thanks!!! Any school bus from tampines area?
All of you who take to Aljunied mrt in the morns, shall we request for a school shuttle from Aljunied station...good idea? :xedfingers: maybe pick-up 7 am or 7.10am so no need to wait for bus 100 and walk in. -

After hearing from you, I now sort of regret my choice of cedar, too late to change now, submitted already and S1 posting closed at 3 pm. :scared: -

Hi, I am a Sec 2 student (2012) from Cedar Girls and I think Cedar's stress level is very tolerable. Every school is bound to have a certain amount of stress and I really don't think Cedar's stress is overwhelming. In fact, us Cedarians have so much fun in school and you seldom see people breaking down. As for the school bus, you may inquire with the school. And yes, many people do take buses from Aljunied. Hoping they would have a shuttle bus from Potong Pasir MRT to Cedar as well, because it is usually a long 10 min or 15 min walk. :roll:want_to_know:

Hi Want_to_know,
Thanks for your reply. What are your typical shool hours like? Are they very long?[/quote]At first at the end of 2011 (when the hours were still up to 1.50), we were totally against school ending at 3.15, but now it's part of our life and we don't actually have anything against it. I in fact find that helpful = more time spent with teachers and not playing computer at home. There's still time for doing homework at home, and CCA time would be reduced by an hour as a result. But the hours are fine by us Cedarians, we are used to it. Besides, we have recess breaks and lunch breaks that give us enough time to 'recuperate'. -

You shouldn't base your judgement based on this, you have to look it as a whole - Cedar's positive traits outweigh negative traits. Besides, it may be 'hard' to commit time to brush up your piano skills, but it is not impossible. And of course, playing the piano can be a form of relaxation for you too. I know of classmates playing the piano and they do so so well in their studies! All sec schs in general have more work and that automatically means less time for other things. However, like my coach always says: study hard, train hard. just give your 100% in everything you do :rahrah:
