Agree. Minister Ng after saying citizens will get an extra ballot for P1 registration followed by stating that \"This is not a matter of principle across the board...for Singaporens getting twice as much as PRs.\"
So clearly, the garmen wants to have its cake n eat it too. But it is a difficult balancing act n both citizens n PRs can never be fully satisfied.

If you have to ballot, it is STILL a lottery. Citizens just get an extra ticket, that's all. You still depends on the luck of the draw with PRs. Come to think of it, is this really much of a privilege for citizens?

True. At least a baby step has been taken. If there is openess to change, there is always the hope of further changes. Just need to put the case formally to them.

SC 2 tickets and non SC 1 ticket in same box like no diff at all leh.

Aiyo, poor thing (children), their fate is really like toto, its like gambling, like casino jackpot too. So gambling is cultivate at quite young age huh?

On the second part of the issue annouced with this, it the school fee diff between SC and non SC is going to get bigger. Hmm... its really costly to educate our young ones (school fee, tuitions, our man hour, school book, extra books, etc). Wondering what will it be like when its our Grand Children time to go school. :lol:

It says \"2 balloting slips\", so should mean 2 balloting slips in the balloting box, rather than the sequence.

Maybe they will change to what you mentioned before the next next election?

Whether yr chance as SC increase significantly depend on the number of PR coming forward to take part in the balloting. Eg. if there are 5 PR 1 SC, with the extra slip, do you think your chance is better than 5 PR? In another case, if PR all stay within 1km and you as SC stay between 1 to 2 km, and only within 1km need ballot than your extra slip wont work.

My impression is that it's not that difficult to become a SC. A friend who has been a PR for years is applying to be a SC for the sake of her daughters. To get subsidy in pre-school and for primary registration.

so the child must become a SC or juz one of parents to be SC? Heard of many instances tat one spouse become SC juz to enjoy the benefits and the other to retain their own country's citizenship.
