I was from a girls school and given the choice again, I will still take up my teacher's suggestion and defy my parents by amending their choice. 😓 lol. My dad really hit the roof that time. 😓

As for transferring to another school, I don't know if it will be successful...from my understanding, there are many appeal cases at the end of Sec 1 and schools will choose students who can contribute to sports more than academic ability.

Have you considered joining the IP stream at Sec 3? 3 of the people in my school left at the end of sec 2 to join VJC IP in Sec 3, and they entered through the admission tests which tests on academics, not sports etc. Maybe you can consider joining VS IP in Sec 3 (or join the O level track earlier). You get affiliation to the JC as well, which is always a plus.

IP? Don't think he can take that route.
Thanks but he better stick to the O level route. I am hoping he could switch to St Andrew's Sec or SJI ...but think it will be rather difficult to enter these schools.

          With regards to coed schools.

The forbidden fruit tastes sweeter. The more you deprive them of the opposite sex, the more they fantasize. Some get sexually attracted to the same sex and do funny things in the toilets. My sis taught in 2 top girls school and she said that is normal to happen. Somehow, this happens to girls more than boys I think. Boys tend to exhibit homosexuality later when they go to Uni.
Wah, talk about discrimination. I haven't seen boys from boys' schools exhibiting homosexuality and girls from girls' schools demonstrating lesbianism altho I hear alot about them. What a convent school friend told me at 17 sticks in my head,\"it's common to have crushes on seniors or another girl, but lesbianism has to do with sex. And I don't think we were into sex, so I don't think liking someone makes me a lesbian.\"

Talking about forbidden fruit, I only remember my classmates and schoolmates changed their boyfriends once every few months because of the 'abundance in supply' in a coed school. Even agreed with their besties to 'switch boyfriends' after some time.

And for those girls who didn't have a boyfriend at 13 or 14 like me, we felt so unfashionable and pressured to have one to show that we were attractive.

Peer pressure is invisible yet powerful.

Another school that you could consider is Maris Stella. Among all the 3 boys’ schools, chances of getting into St Andrew is highest. Don’t give up. There is a will, there is a way. Nothing is impossible

Maris Stella is a SAP school.

your son former primary school also SAP.

if he enter Maris, is like a … fish swimming in water, because he’s familiar with SAP environment.

Forget the former things; do Not dwell on the past.
when January 2013 come and your son enter a new Sec school Sec 1, he’s going to embark on a new journey, starting with a new clean sheet of white paper again !

Run down this new journey. Look forward, with a new zeal of energy.

                Hi phtthp/mummy so kiasu,

I really have a good feel for St Andrew’s…did consider Maris Stellar too.
Am pushing son to work hard and plan his own schedule…with 8-9 subjects, he really needs to know how to plan. I cannot be spoon-feeding him anymore. Thank you for your encouragement.

I nearly wanted to Put Saint Andrews as one of our 6 choices until my wife found out that they don't conduct Higher Chinese in the school. If your kid takes higher Chinese, he/she will have to go to another centre - very troublesome.

You don't to be from a SAP primary school in order to go to a SAP sec school. Some SAP schools only offers HCL but others have both CL & HCL.

Maris Stella seems like a good school, though the COP seems to have dropped somewhat over the years…

I am not against my first choice of school…but I really hope he gets a chance to go to st Andrew’s…but if he can’t, no problem staying put in the one we chose…now really really hope he can get in first. One step at a time.
