Let's not use what she has shared in a heartfelt manner against her. We are all in this together to encourage one another.

Encourage each other is ok. But not the relentless and unfair bashing of teachers who are voiceless, and therefore defenseless in this forum.

I wanted to ignore this post, but I can't.
If you had gone through the relentless and unfair nonsense I had to put up with son's teachers this year, I don't think you can swallow it either. It would be easier to understand if you can put yourself in my shoes.
If you allow your son to be ostracised by his form teacher, it's fine with me.
Since I'm on this topic, I might as well add in this note. I have sent an email to the school regarding my son being ostracised and the VP has called me to enquire further. I am a parent and I will not allow my children to be put down by anyone.

I am sure 90% of the entire tropical island of SINGAPORE parents will support me in this humiliating issue. Some powerful ones might even seek their lawyers' advice as the humiliation of their kids PRIDE had been shattered !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![/quote]Hi Janet_lee88

I have read many of your posts and frankly and with kindness and respect, I think you are quite over-anxious with your child. He needs to face difficult people himself. The more you interfere, the more it will embarrass him. Good and bad teachers come and go, he has to learn how to cope.

If it makes you feel better, I have my fair share of terrible teachers from my kids' school which is what's more a so called top school. Sometimes I feel quite stressed when I hear my kids' grouses but I try not to interfere nowadays as I learned that my kids are just venting out their frustrations, not that they want help. Just like adults, we also vent out but we don't want anyone to go interfering with our problems with people.

Do relax more so that you child will feel relax too and he will learn better. Try to see the good things that has happened in those 6 years and move on with good memories. Take Care!

        Hi Janet!

I wanted to post earlier but my PC crashed out on me :slapshead:

Since 2011, we've posted in the P5 threads and we all know the headaches, hardwork and efforts we've put into our kid's PSLE. The kids have worked hard too. Like you posted in the other thread, PSLE exam is a one event and anything can happen. Sometimes, luck, the \"form\" of the kid on that day, exam anxiety etc etc, so many many things beyond our control.

You know that your ds has already given it his best shot and you and your family has given him your best support. I also hope that you can bring a closure to this and move on to the next phase with your ds on a happy note. For what it is worth, \"all roads lead to Rome\" and this is just the first leg of a really long journey. Better to re-charge and face the next battle :imcool: then to waste your energy and get . Think again, I am sure your son did not waste the 6 years. In fact, he learnt a great deal - both academic and life skills.

I also think FQW meant no harm. With so much controversies around the forums these days, I hope at least our batch who hang around the \"School\" sections will remain cordial.

Wish your son all the best as he embarks on Secondary school journey! Cheers!

PH has been a SAP sch for many yrs. The pupils take HCL from P1 till P4; in P5, the less-proficient ones will drop HCL for normal CL. For lower pri, art, music and other non-core subjects are taught solely in MT.

Pei Hwa is opposite of Nan Chiau. Pei Hwa Sec is not a SAP school whereas Pei Hwa Pri is a SAP school.

Posting next Wednesday. After that, I think it is really a closure to PSLE.

Somehow I feel I am still hanging in the air.

                    Hi Janet,

I agree with other mummies that you should start the new journey happy.

If you should go and meet the vp or teacher/s, do go with the intention to reconcile. Your boy’s primary school journey has ended. Let it end well and end the confrontation and finger-pointing, becos anymore of those would serve no purpose except to make the teachers more bitter against you and your son. Think about your son in whatever you do/want to do. As mothers, we would lay down our lives for our kids without batting an eyelid. Think about how your meeting with the vp and teachers would impact him, emotionally and psychologically. Would it benefit him? If it does, go ahead. Would it embarrass him? Would it affect him negatively? If it affects him in a not-so-fruitful way, you may want to think if it’s worth it. If you badly need to meet the vp and teachers, please be mindful of your son’s little heart. The position you take, the tone you use, the words you say - make them count towards bringing a closure for your son, not just yourself.

Above all, don’t be defensive. The teachers would become defensive the moment they sense defensiveness. And the whole meetup would become aggressive.

At this moment, I believe your son would want to look forward to his secondary school life rather than dwell on what can’t be changed. He will need alot of your support to help him transit into teenagehood. Whatever you decide to do, don’t use your energy in futile ways. Save your energy for him.

                      Hi rains,
I agree with you...you have been most humble, kind and gracious like many other parents. There is no reason to be unpleasant with the VP. She has been utterly apologetic about this and had explained she will act on this only after my child has left the school.
Moving on is most important...yes, energy should be spent correctly.

Yeah, resentment and anger are heavy baggage and should not be held on to. :imcool:
