mummyjoyce:
I just called the MOE hotline : 68722220 given by Pinky. What is the COP for NJC? Pls post asap. Can I go for appealing today?
MOE said COP this year for NJC is 257 & SCGS is 251.
So this should be confirmed figure.
Hope this help.
All the best in your appeal ....
Cheers -
many schools today will expect many many appeals. More so from now on with the help of kiasuparents. Schools will be amazed or appalled at how great this website is, giving parents the platform to share and appeal with evidence. I am sure MOE will not reveal everything about the COP. Parents who are appealing, all the best to you. Be persistent and don’t get upset with the customer service officer/admin officier/general clerks in the schools. They do not sound friendly cos do not want to appear helpful to anyone in particular I think.
Good luck and hope to hear the good news that appeals are successful… -

You can call the MOE hotline : 68722220 & they will tell you the COP. I called up NJC this morning asking if I can appeal for my son if he did not choose the school at all & the lady staff there was very very unfriendly. :x She said she doesn't see any reason why i should appeal if NJC is not in the 6 choices at all. Worst, after hearing my son's agg. 257, she said the COP this year is above 257, bull shit. Simply asking you to give up. The school doesn't know the COP yet cos' when I called up Dunman High, the friendly staff told me they do not know the COP yet most probably in the afternoon. I will appeal for DHS instead.[/quote]
From the parents posts here it is 257, please call the school. They seems to know the COPs by now. Good luck !!!harini:

I am surprise to see that RGS is only 260.
Yep ! NJC 's been unfriendly since 1980 ...experienced exactly the same \"look down\" thing then....... school culture , maybe.... so I disallowed my son to even think of going there ..... \"Simply asking you to give up.\" your descriptions perfectly fit their way of talk from staff there, admin to every level..... my sister from there too and her attitude ---> NJC's style exactly like what you describe ....

Don't get upset with the admin staff, they may have had too many calls to deal with.
If your child wants to go to NJC and u feel its a great school, just appeal. For all you know ur child may get in both DHS and NJC - thats a nice problem to have :).
Good luck with ur appeal ... -
