For those using grandparents address, like staying together with grandparents but grandparents are not the main care taker, got maid to take care the child, is registration under within 1 km or 1-2km?
If the parents' NRICs show the grandparents' address, the distance category the child will be in depends on the actual distance between the house and the school. -
Hi,
I’m in a dilemma for my DD (2007)!!! :scared:
DD likes to study and is a playful girl, she is a bright, good communicator and fast learner.
My Aim:
1.\tNanchiau : \t2C < 1km, popular, low chance!!!
2.\tRivervale : \t2C < 1km, popular, low chance!!!
Should I try for it???
Alternative:
1.\tSt Hildas : \t2A. long traveling time (sch bus)!!!
DD will have less rest time!!!
\t
Last choice :
1.\tlooking for good academic school yet not hot in Sengkang??? :frustrated:
Any recommendations???
Which school is suitable for her??? :?
Your advise will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. 谢谢。 :salute: -
xiaoris,
in terms of academic standard, Kong Hwa (KH) is much higher than Anderson, plus the fact that KH is a SAP school. My advice is … stick to KH (yr alma mater). KH has very good Chinese built in curriculum programme throughout her six years, plus many other interesting, CCA programme.
however due to tiring distance issue travel daily, you may consider renting out your current house, collect the monthly rental, then rent another house much nearer to KH. (if you don’t wish to sell / buy house) I see many parents practising this. eg: have a friend stay in Woodlands, but he purposely rent out his entire Woodlands flat and then rent another house in Bishan, closer to Catholic High primary (because he is old boy). I also have other friends practise same thing. For the sake of education for their kids, quite a number of parents practising this nowadays. Is quite common. If you choose this route, advise you start scouting for flats now. Don’t wait until July then start, because by then rental prices will soar upwards (closer to P1 registration time frame). Now, you still have half a year now, to start scouting around for a suitable flat much nearer to KH. -
Phase 2B parents (for 2014 P1 intake) who need to know listing of schools by Constituency:-

Hi Xiaoris…I fully agree wth phtthp…don’t waste ur link to old school…if u want to rent nearer to KH…i would suggest u do it within 1 KM (or as near to 1 km as possible)…just to be "extra" safe.
But then having said this, it also depends on whether if MOE announces any drastic change to P1 registration rules for 2013 registration…
eg the SC priority rule really took some of my PR colleagues by surprise despite them also carefully strategising their P1 registration.
Best of Luck in ur P1 registration! -
sc should hv priority over pr and this is only logical.
don't think govt will change much of p1 policy next yr cos maybe next BE coming
anyway another 7 more mths for 2014 p1... stress stress -
I guess I am a bit too late for PV in any school. My daughter is 2007 born and her P1 registration is coming in 2013. I have a son who is 2009 born. I live in the East. I am inclined on CHIJ katong convent but then i need to go through the hassle again for my son (thinking of St Stephen’s). Anyone recommends good co-ed schools in the east? St hildas has too stiff competition. Mother tongue is also a constraint as we are non-chinese.

Lets hope so there's no more changes, I just want to get it over and done with
