No, I'm very happy to hear our pirate messenger, really....3Boys:
Can we have categorical assurance that pirate is not an agent of a foreign entity out to foment disharmony in Singapore society
No, you cannot. That's the point. But, yeah, sure. Shoot the messenger and ignore the message.
Just that I don't think they are obliged to make categorical assurances of anything (and neither are you, we take it at face value).....hence my analogy.pirate:
I am willing to take \"no\" as an answer if they are prepared to say it.
They've already said they followed procedure and that there was no financial impropriety.
Is there financial malfeasance? Remains to be seen.
Anyhow, I'm not here to defend the PAP. In a perverse way, I'm quite enjoying the spectacle.
But as I am saying for the umpteenth time, it's not the financial part that is troubling to me, its the political aspect.
And I am scratching my head as to why people would even be surprised by what has transpired. -

Why PAP is involved in business? Did PAP MP n town concil’s chairman declare possible conflict of interest since he is aware that PAP own AIM. Did he excuse himSelf from approving the contract?
Hmm… Other than AIM, is PAP also involved in any other businesses? Anyone has ever asked this ? -

Can't even ask why!
how? No check and balances required? Just give blank cheque. :nailbite:
You wish to end up like a mickey mouse state. 给人看笑话
Perhaps you should ask PAP not to spend their time to do business but spend more time to address national issues and serve the people here. Get the priority right! :rotflmao: -

Aiyah, politics is dirty everywhere lah. My take is that it was just a Plan B for GE2011, and perhaps to lay the groundwork for future elections as well. If you know Singapore history well, you’ll know what sort of tactics were being used by someone from PAP to ousted the other party voted by the people in the 1960s. The way things are done seems like they feel the need to be ruthless to win and be in control.
Anyway, looking at the whole political scene throughout Singapore history suddenly makes me think of 薄熙来 and his 唱红反黑. Many great contributions and well loved by people due to his anti-corruption policies and the way he carried out those policies, a promising next premier. Very clean, good and well-maintained façade… But alas, the scandal brought forth by his wife led to his downfall. If not for this, nobody would know how much hidden corruption had been going on all this while.
