I came across a tuition centre near to ikea tampines. The in charge tutor is a male with white streaks of hair. He looks creepy. My Daughter asked me to pull her out immediately after the 2nd lesson. He ask her if he can take photos of her anot as he works as a part time photographer. I don't even care about my deposit and just took her out. He couldnt produce cert too when i asked for it
It seems he has been on the radar of other parents too.

I think Glacier74 didnt want to name it as some centre will sue you for defamation.
I think i also know which centre she referring to as my friend told me about it before. She paid for the lessons full, her daughter attended 2 lessons and then suddenly when trying to arrange for the 3rd lesson after exams, the teacher and the admin girl were both gone, not answering hp and not answering the door.
Its possible that they went on holiday for a while but not possible if it continues for a month to two. She simply couldn’t get them and shouldn’t they inform the parents if they go away for a long trip? Its ridiculous.
Heard from her they operate in a HDB EA unit and they teaches pri and sec, and that the sec sch tutor is a male who specialize in only E & A math. -

When they know they have been clearly up to no good, I doubt they dare to sue. Taking legal action will only bring attention and ridicule to their preposterous acts. Think the NKF saga on a smaller scale.SaltySalt:

Yes true too. Parents just be careful if come across this centre will do. Was talking to my friend about it, she told me located near to a pri school in tampines along tampines st 72. -

This thread gave me the creeps when i first read it. it brought back so many memories about my experiences.
If i am not wrong the person we are refering to runs his ‘tuition classes’ from a HDB flat in tampines st 72.
he looks horribly old and ugly the first time anyone meets him and doubts will begin to form in any parent’s head about the credentials and credibility of this teacher. especially when he grovels and hiss fake compliments in your way.
even more creepy is the fact that he has photography equipment in his home just lying about in his hall(wth? is he running a modelling school or a tuition class?)
he expects parents to leave their kids in his care alone.
my personal experience with this teacher made me wish i never sent my daughters there in the first place.
he has accosted my daughers from the very first day i sent them. he shows them tons of videos and blogs on his computer and does not seem interested to teach at all. (parents who have kids with him should ask their kids and question what is being done during lessons. This is a dead giveaway that this teacher is the one we are now discussing). worse he promises to take them movies and buy them treats for small victories like when my daughters score well in their chinese ‘ting xie’ which he isnt even teaching.i have since pulled my daughters out becoz he seems to try so hard to win my daughters hearts emotionally at a very creepy rate. he tells my girls they are pretty and ask them to be his models. (a 10 year old and 13 year old??)
he tells kids more about his car and himself than teaching the maths that he is being paid for.(WHY BOTHER TO TREAT MY GALS TO A MOVIE AND MEAL FOR ‘TING XIE’???)
these are just my personal experiences and i just hope mummies will be careful with your precious ones. there are sure to have mummies out there who may have worse experiences than me coz by the third lesson when i found out what was happening i pulled my girls out. I have since found them a good female teacher who they likes and respects.
This is really getting out of hand. I also hope that other parents will get to learn about it. -
hi all, my neighbour yesterday tried calling the center. The Mr W that you guys mentioned told them that his name was Alex.
It was after the time spent with him and my neighbour was very impressed by his fluent manner and he even promised 'A’s for his two daughters.
Later that evening when his daughters returned home from their first lesson. He got his first shock.
First thing the girls noticed when teacher Alex showed them in was a lot of photography equipment in the hall. He proceeded to tell them at the start of the lesson that this would be the last month or so he would be teaching them. He told the girls that he has a rare form of blood disorder and that he has less than 2 months left.
During these two months he hope to impart not just academic skills to the girls but also life skills. He started also by asking and demanding that they would be completely honest with him in all things.(as if he was their father)
when the older girl who was 14 asked politely if she could see his qualifications, he smiled at her and say no. he also kept flattering her and said that she was pretty and had a good figure. he asked if she would like to be a model. $25 an hour.
well there are too many things that happened that could incriminate him. he kept telling the girls that he was super in demand and was three months packed full. after the lesson he offered to send them back in his car. the girls opted to take a bus instead.
after trying to gain the girl pity he also thanked the sisters for having a listening ear and listening to his problems. he said that’s what humans should do, and that is to make life easier for one another. now after gaining pity and flattering the girls he also asked why the elder girl had no bf since she was so pretty, and he said that if back in his day and he was younger he would chase her…
when the lessons ended, she returned home and immediately told her dad.
