2nd Minister for Foreign Affairs AND Environment & Water Resources (pause, let me catch me breath.....)

You are wrong. It is Minister in the Prime Minister's Office, Second Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and Second Minister for Foreign Affairs. Please get title correct. Otherwise may be considered rude and disrespectful. :imanangel:

will risk kena sued or not? 😆
Won't we be graceful to receive an apology on her facebook instead of asking for a public apology for misleading the public with groundless accusations? Or would the finger be pointed to THP for it with a :itwasntme: ? 😆

Hmmm...thought only netizens/bloggers do this kind of thing ..

Way2GO:

me hv not even read AA's blog until my attention was directed to it by news of a letter of demand served on AA. m prolly not d only wan.
Instead of killing d issue, d course of action taken has given it new impetus.
It has been interesting how the episodes emerge since the start of the case about Punggol East. There were expectations around that there would soon be another by-election. Then, a report emerged about Town Councils' performance that put certain wards in the bad light, followed by WP's explanation in defence. MSM had been pretty quiet on this matter. In fact, soon after my comment about this on KSP, one small article did appear in the chinese papers, translating SL's response, but with translation standard on par with that of singapor tourizm bored, and possibly worse than a web translating machine. One critic commented that perhaps it was done intentionally to make readers confused and lose interest to read on. Nothing was mentioned in MSM about what netizens had been discussing, for doing that will draw people's attention to the social media.

Then, came PM's message. Everything that had been held, perhaps with 'gag' order, came out in the open overnight. Everyone wants to know what is going on, who is AA, what he wrote, and what has caused the hoo-ha from our PM.

Maybe it's time for AA's blog to start reaping its 'economic rewards' since bloggers bloom by having traffic to their site 😆 (I noticed AA didn't put up any Ads though, just articles and links).

Words fr an old PAP hand, Dr TCB:

Doing the Right Thing.
Many a time we have been reminded by our leaders that we must do what is right. This is because we want fairness for all.
The recent controversy of town councils (TCs) allowing the ruling political party company (AIM) to buy over and manage the IT software programs of TCs, beg a few questions, especially when the company may not serve ‘due to material change’, an opposition ward.
This soft ware is developed using public funds by town councils. Is it right for the TCs to give up ownership in this manner? .....
https://www.facebook.com/TanChengBock

It is well said. What is the point of resorting to such a \"dirty\" tactics for a short term gain (if any) in this case? We should 以德服人 .... to earn the RESPECT/ TRUST from ordinary Singaporeans, not to silence the opponents with THREAT OF LAW SUITS (This will only fan the feeling of injustice ....) ... the qualities of our new leaders are getting from bad to worst.... \"服\"不过三代 .... sad.

I dun agree with what the PAP did. It is obvious they were trying to block off the opposition parties.

but having said that, i also dun agree wif Alex Au. Friends told mi Alex Au remarked that Christians in Singapore is no difference from the Ku Klux Klan…

It is only natural that political party would do whatever within their means to hold on to their power. However, they should not have do things that would actually affect fellow citizens in the opposition wards. These are also Singaporeans whom the government has the responsibility to take care of.

That's why their linking votes to upgrading strategy never goes well with me.

Therefore, I think it is important for me to clarify that the statements in the article that I had to take down, and that Lee took exception to, were not, strictly speaking, statements about the sale of the software to AIM, but phrases and sentences pertaining to him. They were statements and questions I had asked that Lee felt questioned his integrity, corruptibility and abuse of power should he not launch an investigation. The 21 readers’ comments that the lawyers cited as defamatory were of the same vein.
This portion of Alex's part 6 is the crux.

There, now you have it straight from the horse's mouth (haven't decided yet whether pun intended).

\"I feel that we may be reading too much into the political association. Because in the first place it's a political organisation\", \"they're not public institutions; they're not a public service company\". \"They do not belong to the government. They're governed by government regulations, but they're definitely not run by civil servants; and they're not a public agency\".

Never mind that town councils are dealing with public money. Never mind that section 56 of the Town Councils Act provides that: \"All members, officers and employees of a Town Council and all employees of its managing agent shall be deemed to be public servants for the purposes of the Penal Code (Cap. 224).\"

Town councils are not public institutions. They are just (private?! 😆 ) political organisations run by people who are deemed to be public servants, ok?

Presumably he is saying there is no conflict of interest. But it's only a presumption because I don't know whether he is saying that. Actually I don't know what he is saying. :?

I think it is to their best interest that they just leave it to THP and stop commenting about this. The more they say, the more holes they create for THP to patch.
