All About Montessori

hi all, my son is currently enrolled in Newton Montessori (he has been there since Jan 2012) and we do like it there, unfortunately they have increased their prices once in 2012 and will be increasining it again in 2013 (we have been informed)


I chose that school rather arbitrary as we just moved back to Snagpore in Dec 2011. i find the fees too rich for my blood and need some advice.

Where else can I go within the Newton/ Novena area? Ideally its somewhere with a 4hr program. As we only informed of the next increase in Nov, i have obviously missed the registration for any church/ registration date based school.

Does any one have an opinion about :

Little woods (gentle road)
Halifax ( bit out of the way for me but i’ll figure it out)
JHS - Valley point?

any others?

Hi woofmeow my gal from there. but i pull out my gal last year from there... as i prefer her to have more exposure. the teachers everyone is very nice and friendly. as for teaching wise and fun wise everything is okai. they have quite a number of outings too. My gal quite love that school every wed they will have a play water.

Why i would say expose more.. my gal is quite timid kind. so i bought her to MFS where they ownself learn how to go their classroom put their school bags and waterbottle. like being more dependent. where as little wonder is very careful of u. i love it actually but im more afraid that my gal is too USED to it till later if she go primary school everything will be ???? other than that.. im not working already so school fees is quite ex for me. so changing school is the only choice.

If im back to work and my no.2 dont have a space for MFS i will still let my no.2 go to little wonder first. as its nearer to my house. hee

I have been a silent reader. I need advice and I know there are many experience mum out there.
I cannot decide if I should put my kid in montessori or a church kindy. Price aside, I am weighing more in terms of charcter building and academic preparation. Advice of pros and cons pls.

I stay at bukit panjang and would like to know of any TRUE montessori school around.

Hi Ocearth,

That's why when you enrol your child in Montessori school you must make sure the teacher teaching your child is Montessori trained with Montessori teaching diploma. Don't be bluffed by centres that claim their teachers are in house trained teachers! Most likely they are just as good as you after learning from a website.

What I heard from my friend is that some experience teachers have left and they have some trainee teachers there. May be you should go and visit a few more Montessori school to compare. But you may be disappointed as there aren't many Montessori preschool in Sengkang.
