      MMM:

      Thanks for the transport tips!!!
You're welcomed! Will be exciting having visitors around Singapore to our SMC! 😉 Hope SMRT stand by more LRTs and guide crews for the influx of visitors 😆

Also hor, better BYO drinks cos there's only 1 mall near each location, and it's going to be soo crowded, I can't imagine...(thinking about the WP rally that is 😆 )

Yup Yup. LLL also graduate right.

I am really looking forward to the rally... No news yet right.

        Response to bolded part.
Has elite or a privileged background become such a bad word?
Seems like KPK is tripping over himself highlighting dat he still lives in a 5 rm HDB flat, d potential earnings fr his private practice in Mt. E notwithstanding. Something doesn't add up.
Even LLL has joined in d one-upmanship by stating dat she n her sisters were raised in a 3 rm flat.

        u r absolutely right.
Sterling academic qualifications alone do not make a gud MP.

hey hey next time ah, all the new candidate must introduce themselves.

        \"Hello, I'm Joule Wong and I live in a HDB flat.\"

Butt, he never declare how many condo he own, whether he own property in Iskandar region, how many BMW he drive, whether his tap is made of gold or no....etc etc etc

For DL saying he got harrassed by WP supporters through phone calls, I got this to say

\"Anyone can call anybody and say anything\"

Actually hor, yes, you are right. He did not say it was the WP, but WP supporters. Personally, I think WP supporters just want more opposition voice in parliament, and WP had been a better bet 😆 This time round, the sentiments wouldn't have changed much.[/quote]

? Need enlightenment on this? Sentiment as in the resident generally pro incumbent?

Yes WP has the better package among all the opposition. It is not perfect but it is still acceptable. The feeling it gives is very different. It's like people who are on the same boat as you. I used to be neutral until I attended their last day rally at YCK stadium that allowed them to win Aljunied. Then during the last Hougang by election, yes I still recall the rally on rainy night and people stayed on... and strangers try to share whatever \"shelter\" they can offer with each other....

Also with WP and with the help of social media, we are indeed hearing more and more stuff.... Sometimes I wonder if we will get to hear these stuff if there were only 2 oppositions in parliament.... So yes... some form of control and check is good for everyone to avoid complacency.

I have a auntie who is staying in punggol area (not punggol east). My uncle recently passed away and I heard that the MP and RC members went to the wake. My uncle is just an ordinary old man and he did not have any RC dealings, etc.... I think we've heard/ read about LTK/ WP's practise of going to wake and the personal touch, this is like a wake up call to the ruling party MPs to be more attentive to the people and not appear only during election. I suppose the residents are the ones who benefit in the end.

Gee. If , going forward, every political party would to do the same then \"peh kim\" collected might be enough to cover the cost of the funeral. Family members in mourning just have to keep them separate to prevent political revelry during the wake and/or supply, soft drinks and playing cards to let them outdo each other in giving bigger \"peh kim\".

Then again, this may not work for there'll always be people who may complain that this is some sort of advance vote buying.

Hmm..DL, yes. From HG case, however, you can see supporters of the parties do not seem to be wavered by the 'deeds' of the selected MP - the switch can be considered minor. KJ is the unknown factor that adds to the complexity. I also feel this time there may be increase in invalid votes.

IIRC, there was a 2.7% swing against WP in HG BE, though d actual vote change was only abt 130+ votes.
Yeah, agree dat Palmer affair will hv some backlash but it will not be as big a swing factor compared to AIMgate, transport woes n all d other issues dat were not satisfactorily resolved since GE 2011.

Pity DL - his heart to serve may be there but his ambition is running ahead of his ability to be elected.
Spoilt votes may increase, u say? It was 1.74% in GE 2011. His vote % cld possibly fall below dat of spoilt votes.

Yes to a certain extent I agree with your comments... saw the FB comments by a pal of mine. Not sure if he is voting but he said that he was \"pissed\" to see opposition walking around the malls nearby, etc... and had some negative remarks about opposition parties (WP included), etc... So I suppose he must be a die-hard fan and cannot see anything but white. 😉 For a moment...I wondered how he must have reacted when he saw my FB postings on WP during the hougang rally.... Haha maybe I am being blacklisted by him... But I just hope that regardless white or blue, we are ONE SINGAPORE. We must respect each other despite our differences in views and preferences be it religion or political parties. This is like our pledge.
Haha…heard of a case that a couple divorced during Taiwan’s election. The couple were so adamant in supporting their own parties, and held such polarised views and strong beliefs of their respective parties, that they argued, quarrelled and fought, which resulted in their divorce! :faint:
