When you doubt the sincerity of a person…whatever you read, you will be able to find something to criticise…

Don’t try to read too much between the lines…

Ok, since someone says we should not post political remarks on a sympathy page, I will post it here.

I almost felt PM was with us when he expressed sympathy for the 2 boys who died in the accident in Tampines - until he had to add the remark about the online circulation of photos. It makes me wonder about his real intention for mentioning it in the first place. What other similar cases had he shown sympathy towards in the past? He had just brought up the case of online communications and this case seems soooo suited to substantiate his ground.

Please, just express sympathy as sympathy and nothing else!
Moving my comments here (physically too).
I bought the chinese newspapers last night to read more about the accident. Got my kids to read it. Re-emphasized on importance of safety, gave them a hug and told them how sad we will be to lose them. So pls stay safe. I also read about the 12 year old boy which is also

However something caught my attention. It was the pictures of Baey and TSL. They were featured in both those case. Probably to show their involvement as MPs. I silently wondered to myself if that will be the trend going forward to show how engage our MPs are with our daily lives.

            Sorry you felt that way.

Many bloggers have posted/twitted the same. Including mr.brown. And many agree that it is highly insensitive to post such photos.

But maybe , just maybe, you need to check if you are only trying to finding fault at all costs.

( reminds me of my mil.....) 😉

I am not saying posting of those photos are ok. As mentioned, I have not even come across any of the gruesome photos mentioned. So I am saying from my perspective. His words 'especially online' made me sit up on defense. Yes, I suppose I should slow down in my comments and hold back my opinions a bit. I suppose with a bigger population on the tiny island, we will have less of such ACCIDENTS from happening in the future.

Baey is the MP there.... And he have also been very active on the ground. Tampines under HSK and baey is very different from the era of MBT and sin boon ann.... I would say that the opposition have somehow missed the chance in last election... If only it was wp instead of nsp....

:hugs: It is not a bad move, actually. Showing sympathy like everyone of us is a sign that the garmen is with us. It is good. Never say it is bad, horr...

If it's for the better of the (Tampines) society, it doesn't matter if it is WP or PAP.

I believe that the PM meant to offer his condolences and prevent the forwarding of the photos. However, concern2's post reminds me of the time when Shanmugam said he would bring up the Delhi rape case as an example to Singaporeans who were against the mandatory death penalty.

                    http://www.stasiareport.com/the-big-story/asia-report/singapore/story/shanmugam-stresses-case-death-penalty-20121231

I feel that a condolence message should be short and sympathetic. There's no need to bring up other issues. I am glad the PM didn't take the opportunity to bring across his message about the Internet.
