Most high end cars have keyless entry and ignition. Showing car key or key fob means not driving high end car. So what is the envy all about ?

I didn't even know that picking kids up by car can cause unhappiness among some parents. :?
My kids school once a while have to send out homelinks telling parents that they are not allowed to park their car in front of the sch as they are obstructing traffic..

Some inconsiderate ones are really a nuisance..

Yo, that's a different type of unhappiness.
That's why I prefer to arrive later than the dismissal time. Most of the traffic would have been cleared by then, no need to get frustrated.

reason why parents appear \"obsessed\" to send their child to Top school(s) is because perhaps they feel that once their child is inside a Top school - the school culture, the environment, the natural tide will automatically push their child along to excel, ie. flow with the natural flow. Also, they hope that their child will end up one day eventually in a good faculty of higher learning, in a university.

                example:-
NUS High is one of the Top Secondary schools, besides usual RI / Hwa Chong / Dunman High, VJC, NJC, etc. A number of the students do well enough, to enter so called \"good\" faculties of higher learning :-

Another reason is that the kids do not have to take O level if they get into IP track.

Not so for government schools, mostly stay in HDB flats. Independent schools attract more well to do families.

Yes, Independent Secondary schools tend to attract more financially well to do families. eg: where school fees cost around $ 300 per month type

Yes, if they bypass O level and enter IP track, they must go all out to ensure they must score well at A level - well enough to enter their desired faculty of choice in the university.

but if they do O level - they've a choice to enter back a JC, or go polytechnic.
