MOE to stop publishing names of top students?

If you are saying that we should hide the fact that the Chinese scholars are better than the best of our home-grown scholars, then I think that really would be placing blinders on ourselves to hide us from bad news rather than to acknowledge reality and think of solutions to counter the situation.

Zheng, you are foreigner right ? You so sure all these young scholars will become bosses of Singaporeans in the future ? Nothing is guaranteed. Don't be so stuck up first. May be everyone of them turn out to be Sun Xu.

Actually, many of these handpicked PRC scholars did not do as well as the best of best local talents. This is evident in the A level results in the past few years. most of the candidates with 8-9 distinctions in top schools are locals or second generation of immigrants.

I don’t think we should be afraid of the top scholars from China or elsewhere who get into the local schools. As a forumer has pointed out, eventually it is the individual student who through natural ability, talent, intelligence and hard work who will get the rewards notwithstanding the purported earlier years advantage of being a China scholar. The A levels is a long journey allowing enough time for Singaporean children to catch up.

Some top students are from Malaysia. Majority PRC are doing just fine.
