      Hi,

I am new here and i will need to enroll my daughter for 2014 P1 intake this year. But will like to know something and hope that mummies here is able to advise me.

I have just bought my flat at Tampines and within 1km are schools like Gong Shan Primary, Chong Zheng Primary & Yumin Primary (these are the schools that i know is good).

But problem here is the completion date of my purchase of the flat is on March 2013. Should i immediately go and change my address on my NRIC to my new home address? Will i be on time for the P1 registration for schools within 1km?

And i see that both parents ID are required when doing the registration. But i am already divorced, child care and control under me. So when going through the registration, is the father’s ID still required?

Thank you in advance for your reply.
      Evelyn

There's a grace period for parents moving to the new add. From the infor provided I take it that you will be moving in by Mar/Apr 2013? If that's the case you do not need to worry. The P1 registration starts in Jul and by then you would be living in your new add am I correct?

I'm unable to help with your other qn. Hopefully other parents can help.

i've a question for Phase 2B - hope someone can clarify.

            example

suppose a very popular school under Phase 2B, has 50 vacancies left.
But there are Total 51 2B(Parent Volunteers + Grassroot leaders + SG Hokkien Huay Kwan / Catholic or Methodist or Presbyterian or Anglican Church members, where applicable) registered in this hot, favourite school. Out of these 51 applicants :-

49 are SC (Singapore citizenship) children, staying less than 1 km.

1 PR staying less than 1 km
1 SC staying within (1 to 2) km.

            qn:-
will balloting take place - for the last 50th place ?
if No balloting occur - who'll take the last 50th place ?

The SC who is staying 1-2km will get in. No balloting SC = 50

                Thank you for the clarification.
Thus for Phase 2B, once demand exceed vacancies available -
Singapore citizenship takes precedence over distance.

It applies fr Phase 2A1 onwards.

Fr your example, I change the numbers a bit, if there are 54 SC and 1PR applied and 53 SC lived within 1 km and 1 SC living 1-2km, 1 PR lived within 1km, balloting will be conducted for 53 SC within 1km. 1 PR within 1km no chance, 1 SC 1-2km also no chance for the 50 vacancies.

Hi all. I've been following the stats provided here (balloting) pretty closely. My daughter will go to P1 next year so registration will be in a few months time in P2C.

We live within 1 km of RGPS, from the stats if I read correctly, we may not need to ballot.

Anyway has any inputs on this? Did I read the stats correctly?

                    Appreciate your help! πŸ˜‰

                      Balloting was conducted under P2C, within 1km for 2010, 2011 and 2012.

                        Yes, for Phase 2C -
                        balloting was conducted within 1 km, for past 3 years : 2010, 2011, 2012.
                        refer :-
                        http://www.rgps.moe.edu.sg/cos/o.x?c=/wbn/pagetree&func=view&rid=52943

                        2007 to 2010 : Total take in 10 classes (300 pupils)
                        2011 and 2012 (two years) : take in 9 classes (270 pupils)

perhaps you can call up the school, obtain latest info to clarify / confirm how many classes they intend to open this year - still remain at 9 or 8 ?

do have a backup plan. For Bukit Timah vicinity, the only backup school left is Bukit Timah primary. Because by end of Phase 2C, all popular schools like MGS, Pei Hwa, Nanyang, Henry Park - will be full house.

for backup school if you don't like co-ed Bukit Timah primary but prefer an \"All girls\" school environment, can consider either Marymount Convent or St Margaret. St Margaret primary has an affliated Secondary school, not Marymount. Going to an affliated primary school is good, because it give the girls a quiet, assuring confidence to do well, a cushion to absorb the stressful PSLE preparation come 2019.
