How did he manage his clingy mum before marriage? Like say if you guys are out on a date and his mum calls?

That time,he was still staying wf his mum,so seldom call. But called a lot during our wedding preparation.By that time,it was oredi too late to pull out coz we oredi ROM.

During our first few months, after the wedding,my DH went bk to ILs home few days a week.Yes, we stayed separately.I stayed in our new home, while he went bk n stayed there few days per wk...just bcoz my MIL kept telling me that:\"our home cannot go without my DH\".So i asked my DH go bk.

      [/quote]

Guess it was a wrong move to allow him to go back and stay for a few days a week after u guys moved out.
Perhaps think positive n make plans with DH for V Day celebration tmr?

thks for suggestion.but we’ve not talked for days.no mood to go out coz he would probably busy answering his mother’s calls. Quite sick of being leave alone in the restaurant by him.

:grphug: honestly, he needs to put his foot down n stop pampering her as and when she wants. Otherwise really can't do anything about it.

Vinegar, u have got yourself a good hubby. 百行孝为首。a man who is a filial son won't be too bad. If it will make u feel better, don't reheat food anymore

What/how is your relationship with your mil?

Thanks:)All i hv to continue to endure. DH admits that he doesn't handle his mum well. But he also can't change anything coz this is her character. When she wants something, she wanna it now. When she wanna talk now,she wanna talk now, even my DH is in the meeting or i am busy cooking.

During my confinement, she n her relatives went inside my room without knocking the door, and i was in the middle of breastfeeding...When i turned away(coz tried to cover myself),she told my DH i showed her face.

DH says she is sensitive,he advised me to avoid her,coz he sicks of explaining to her whenever misunderstanding occurs. So now we seldom talks.DH also worries she keeps calling n put my life in danger(coz i am driving most of the times to ferry my kids or run errands).

My hb likes to say this too...\"PIL are so old now... Never know how long more to stay with them\"
And for that reason, hb refused to move out, therefore, I am not able to get my own house. My FIL is 75, MIL is 70, and I always told him, they are still young, maybe they will outlived me....

Vinegar, you are a good wife and mother lah... learn to do and care less. MIL became wary of offending me when I started to literally clam up and do less...

On the brighter side, at least your DH is just calling his mom and not talking to other women!

Get MIL to join some senior citizen activities to make new friends... think she's plain lonely.
