Haha, that's true.Prost case is more straightforward. No way they could run away fr. justice, even wf top lawyerphtthp:
if any of those 48 men with that 17 underaged prost case still not taken up yet, maybe can consider hiring Ah Gay's confident lawyer. He'd made himself famous now, able to tackle prosecution lawyers. Howard Shaw case over (he was jailed 12 weeks) ... maybe that outstanding MOE scholar chap can consider, if his case not open yet.
Maybe he'll ask them to plead guilty..  -

His EMA is his private affairs and as long as it does not affect his work, there is no need for him to inform his bosses.
But was it material?
If one were having an EMA with a vendor, he would hardly report that he was in a personal relationship with that person, would he?
However, once that person in that EMA becomes a vendor to a project that he is supposed to sign off for approval, he needs to report it as clearly there is a conflict of interest and potentially a magnet to CPIB probe if he fails to do so. -

If I am the lawyer, I will not take Peter Lim's case. Totally different scenarios between the two. There is an EMA between NBG and CS and that can be proven over the SMSes etc.
maybe in the next case -
that SCDF chief can consider hire back this same lawyer since he'd proven that he'd helped Ah Gay won the case.
For PL, he wants to argue that he was having EMAs with 3 women? Good luck to him. If I have just won a big case, I probably wouldn't want to risk my reputation just gained on a case like this. -
AC_Power:
3? any info/identification on these women? seems like only one from NCS is identified right?

I can't see how this can even be closely related to reality.

I understand the need the keep the 'appearance' of the lack of potential conflicts-of-interest, but even in a situation where there is a conflict-of-interest, it does not mean there was wrongdoing, as evidenced by the discharge of NBG.
This is the trap NBG fell into. He could not report it because it would have caused grave personal impact, and by not reporting, the CPIB felt compelled to prosecute, in order to keep the public happy. I don't think even THEY thought that the tender itself was biased. But the way the Singaporean public is these days.........better not be a civil servant. -
dowan to see this thing la
'slaughtering' a man's reputation, whether he is guilty or not, on the mainstream media over many months is simply not my cup of tea

actually ah, not sure if you agree
it's being a 'high level' civil servant that people have toxic thoughts about
this saga is like the public execution of someone macham death of thousand cuts.
and to think the olde days of pillories and executions were over
I do not like to see it -

Can't even invest in the stock market without having to declare one's :censored: shareholdings every year... 1,000 shares of SPH, 500 shares of SingTel, 3,000 shares of Penguin, 2,000 shares of Cougar, 1,000 shares of Eu Yan Sang... and my wife's grandfather left her one share in Lao Ah Gong & Son Sdn Bhd in his will...My Dad was a civil servant for decades, my FIL the same, and still is. The first few years of my career I worked for the garment.
