Coaching of Secondary school work
-
Secondary school students have to learn how to prioritise their school work and not leave everything to the last minute. They also have to plan their own revision with their subjects as there are many mini tests that count towards the exam score. Mind-mapping skills and along with drills and practices, I guess are all part of right study skills.

For me, when dd in year 1, the only subject I am able to \"coach\" is Maths and little of Physics. Chinese is to involve with more discussion with her to give her more ideas. The rest, I really cannot help much. But one role, I am definately is and I always tell her that - Secretary. Helping her do printing works, scanning, photocopying, check some school information online, look out for good guide books, good titles to read up, useful documentary show from cable TV, remind her to drink more water, nag at her its bedtime ....

I am my kid PA since P1. I did most of those works mentioned above and also I teach her tip and trick to complete assesment quicker. I will continue to do so even now (sec 1 next year) as she trust that I can look out for the best materials and give her the best advises and suggestions. -

Wa daisyt, I find that we are very much alike especially the secretary part....lol. I've done that for my girl till Sec 4 and now got to repeat the cycle for the second one. :siao: Very tiring indeed. -
Initially, we planned to continue with English and Chinese tuitions. But after looking at her time table, OMG! Now, shelved the Chinese tuition for the time being. Will go ahead with the English tuition as we think itβs impt to have a good grasp of the language since it is applied across all subjects (except CL).

so how? must go tuition? have time meh? does the tuition teacher re-teach what was taught in school or coach homework?
Agree, really no time for tuition. Maybe the most is one tuition. Weekends will be the days to relax and recharge and prepare for the coming week.
