What do you guys think of shadow teacher? Has anyone engaged before?
I have heard of maids who are shadow teachers for their employers. Children with autism who go to regular preschools such as kindergartens have these types of maids around for facilitation. If you are looking to send your child to mainstream, you can consider going to schools such as ARC and a normal mainstream preschool for the child to adjust. This is just a suggestion from me. -

Thanks sembgal, I've no domestic helper and I also don't think I'll get them to be a shadow teacher. Do u mean ARC as in the eipic centre?Summer tan:

Maybe hire an educated maid with some teaching background before n have a heart to help asd child. This maid need to speak English so can’t be those usual Indonesian or Burmese maid. Ie train this maid to be a shadow teacher. If you hire local to be shadow tr, v costly - a few thousand $ per month. But first find out from that school if they allow shadow teacher in the first place. Not all schools permit. As yr child still young, maybe start shadow tr in a kindergarten setting first.
