I stayed at Juldis when I was there around year 2000- a moderate choice for a young family driving out on a weekend. There was also a new resort then that looked very nice- http://www.kirimaya.com/mobile/aboutus.html.

We visited some waterfalls around there on our own. The park has trails and there are guides/ guided tours by independent operators. Maybe need to check the season- best to avoid too wet or too dry seasons. December is nice and cool, I think.

Try the barbecue chicken and mango salad there- Khorat specialties. There is a night market and Thai restaurants - google 'food in Pakchong' (name of town) and you may find yourself getting quite hungry! : )

This site looks quite interesting - http://khaoyaiguide.com/category/pak-chong-travel-guide/.

            Hi Burp

Is self drive the best way to get to Khao Wai from Bangkok? Can I do a private charter from BKK to Pak Chong?

We managed to get there through nam go travel so we don't need to worry of transport
