Dear ponyo and plum-cake,
The bus driver for the morning pick up has finally confirmed the pick up timing yesterday...yes, after several unanswered calls and pestering...
Now, the 6pm bus pick up is still not confirmed at all...... RS Transport gave me the driver's name and after I've called the driver(who told me tpst co. didn't furnish details). and after several frustrating calls back and forth to RS Transport, they told me the supposed assigned driver has resigned and they couldn't provide a replacement driver!!! Of course I hung on and tried to be as patient as possible before she mumbled something that they will inform me again...so now I'm still left high and dry on this...and I've just called RS Transport again a short while ago...and guess there's no one in the office today...the phone isn't auto forwarded to any tel. no. at all... :frustrated: -
Thanks again snowflake, to my surprise the ‘bus aunty’ called. she said they will be here 6.32 am. but she will be driving on saturday to see the locations and will call me again to confirm. are you guys coming on the first day to school? I am thinking of following the school bus.

Hi plum-cake,
The bus driver finally called on Sat evening…so now all’s set and ready to go… I intend to be there at the school gate if i can settle arrangements for my ds as his pre-school bus comes to pick him up at 730am… -
Just read the last few posts about the transport. I was getting worried too as I was only able to get the details quite late. But I still don’t know exactly where she will be dropped off on the going home trip. So I’m going to wait at one spot and I’m asking my maid to wait at another.

Today, the morning bus came around 6.35 am n in the evening the same bus came about 2.45 and my dd said the bus aunty missed the road/ forget the add.
and about the school. I asked her
Q. Did you managed to settle?
A. ye
Q. Who is class teacher?
A. Ms. Lim
???
Q. Did ye met your buddy?
A. during the recess time a bunch of big girls came and asked me lots of questions…
Then I helped her to pack her bag according to the given day 1 time table but the teacher asked for jotter book for mother tongue?
and came with the math and mother tongue 1a books only?
any idea or feed backs from your dds. -
Hi plum-cake,
Not to worry.
The maths test book/workbooks are kept by the teacher that's why the kids only came back with the text book.
For tomorrow, you will need the jotter book and the 2 big 5 exercise books as those are needed by the Chinese teacher. Also, pack in the math text book and the chinese text book.
My kid also came back with monosyllabic answers. Guess that's normal since they have so much to absorb /adapt to today.
Hope that helps. -
My daughter came back with a timetable and a letter from her teacher, Miss Joanne Lee. I called the school and was told the new timetable supercedes the one given during the orientation. I had to add three books to the load she already carried on the first day, and she also has to carry her green art bag. My husband, who dropped her off this morning, said the school bag was so heavy, she couldn’t even stand up straight.
The teacher didn’t keep any books. She didn’t even take back the list of read/spell words. -
Hi jacsplace,
Thanks for sharing. no timetable yet for my kid and the workbooks were kept by teacher. Guess your kid's teacher is more on-the-ball
Will check with DD if she has her timetable when she gets home later. -
Hi Ponyo, Which class is your daughter in?
