What is your breakfast?

Thanks for advice, Sun2010.
Regarding high triglyceride, regular morderate exercise will bring it down. The doc had adviced that diet has less to do with it. Just regular walking can have a good effect. DH had a high level ( over 250 almost 8 years ago.) , the last 2-3 years its been down to 140.Sun_2010:
Do be careful with the confectionery buns and kueh kueh, got high sugar, trans fat, not much nutrition.
Collecting our blood/urine test from Doc tonight. DH's previous test result was a little high on Cholestrol. Mine I think will be high tryglyceride, it has been an old problem, I am not fat though, in good BMI range but you can be thin and still have high tryglyceride.
Might just work for you, that is if you are not already into regular physical activity.
Both DH and I got a clean bill of health from the test results. :rahrah: We did full blood and urine test. My cholesterol was 200, LDL and HDL all in good range. Surprisingly, tryglycerides was only 95 for me. The normal range is 20-200.
I am glad having had some discipline over the past years in terms of diet and exercise has helped. Now have to maintain or try to push the LDL even lower.
Sorry guys for making you feel bad about eating kueh kueh. I think as long as we eat in moderation it will be okay.
Just now, cooked some black glutinous rice porridge for tomorrow's breakfast. Now AYAM brand has cholesterol free coconut milk to go with it. Yum!
my dear, all plants including coconut milk have no cholesterol. dont get conned by these marketing tactics. -
Good morning.
Today's breakfast - kopi n a slice of choco chip butter cake (bou from Balmoral Bakery @ Sunset) which is very buttery (I suspect this is another source of my weight gain :slapshead: ) -

Breakfast menu for my family this morning:
1. Peanut butter toast topped with fresh blueberries (for DH only).
2. Fruit and lemon biscuits (walkers) --> only 9 cookies inside (gone within 15 mins). Nice cookies though, not too sweet, nice smell of lemon. Appetizing.
3. Hot milk tea or fresh orange juice

Wah.. you weigh yourself so regularly? Actually your diet is healthier than mine. For me, I eat at least 1 fried item almost daily. :siam:
ya, must change myself.
Today I walked a lot- morning 2.4km, then grocery shopping at NTUC, then shoe shopping in OG/Robinson, then picked ah boy from sch, then NTUC again.
Guess what? I am 300 g heavier today
I think it is my snacking habits. Not reflected bcos there is no \"What is your snack?\" thread :rotflmao:
I am also > 10 years older than you, cant compare metabolism rate. You are more active.
Once you hit the big 40 everything slows to a grind.
I am now more conscious of what I eat and I exercise more than I ever did but the weight just keeps going up. -
Nihauma:
A 1-cup serving of coconut milk contains about 50 g of saturated fat -- more than 2 1/2 times the daily recommended allowance.

Diets rich in saturated fats increase your levels of harmful LDL cholesterol.

Sorry, the hard truth is kuehs are sinful stuff, so must consume in moderation. Otherwise, the arteries get all choked up ... -
I had wassant bread again this morning,
gotta finish what I bought the day before …
I hate rainy mornings, can’t go for my walk -
guess I got to hit the gym later in the day

For me, I tend to think in terms of how much I need to run to burn off those calories. No butter for me too
