The maid must LIVE at the address on the WP but there is no issue with her going to another address during the day. What she should not be doing is housework in that house. Cooking food for the baby is fine, washing m-i-l’s clothes is not. I think it is key that the maid understands this arrangement before signing the contract so that there is no mis-understanding.
Thanks for clearing up confusion. Yes, you’re right. They can be in another address doing job scope related to employer ONLY.

Maid complaint employer made her wash plates at mil pl. I didn't know its not right until officer said maid is not suppose to do house chore except WP stated address. So I asked officer, 'can I ask her sit outside corridor n eat? Also give her a pile of water to wash her own plate?'

The officer not correct lei. If the maid main chore is to take care of baby and during the day baby is at MIL house.. how not the maid be in MIL house?

For couples who bring maid and bb to their parents' place during the day, is the maid going to be a 小姐 there? That means, the grandmother cooks for her to eat and washes the maid's bowl when done...then whole day sit down or also nap when bb does, until employers return? If grandparents bring bb out, then maid stays at home or go along? If MOM wants to defend maids over own citizens, I find it amusing.

In real world, there is contract and guidelines...and also what is really happening.

Like your see a lot of company vehicles being used for private use, eg, ferrying family here and there. Most companies know it but donch really bother, unless you let someone else drive the vehicle, or if get into accidents, the passengers (family) will not be covered by insurance.

Foreign maids here know they are protected by their country and also MOM…so much so most are behaving like they are the employers instead.

Their loans are cut down and we bear majority…food and accommodation provided. When they do monkey business or run away, we gotta take responsibility.

Hi Einney, please be mindful as leaving maid other than WP address is illegal. Pray hard maid don't complaint. You may check with MOM on this issue. We all know 80% of us will leave maid with MIL or mother, but as per MOM ruling, chores must be perform at registered address. Not even taking dog for walk. If dog register under different address from WP, maid also can complaint.
I remember reading in newspaper some time ago, MOM said it is ok to send maid and child to grandma's place. But maid is there to only look after the employer's kid(s). Not to do housework.
I think he also said it's ok to send maid to look after employer's parent. Again, not including housework for the other household.

So the maid only looks after the employer’s child in grandparents’ place…attend to employer’s kid only…like HDB fire insurance…only insure contents in address stated and nothing/no one else, pets included.

parents normally send maid + child to grandma house.

if after dinner can’t ask maid to wash up bowls, cups, plates, then who wash ?

if MOM say maid can’t wash bowls, cups after meal at another house other than employer’s house -
then if maid eat dinner at grandma house (cooked by ah ma), who is going to wash the maid’s bowl ? grandma herself ?
wah ! then isn’t the maid being treated like a queen ?

HDB insurance where got insure contents? Thought it's for structure only? Contents usually a separate optional insurance.

like I said, these are just laws.
Do you think you maid will really complain if you have been treating your maid reasonably well?

Got...the other day, hubby told me 2 insurance. One for structure of flat excluding renovated contents. The other is by chartis...about $400.
