Hi parents, just to share that CC have ballet classes for children at a fraction of what you pay to private schools such as Crestar or Music and Ballet Company. I paid for Pre-Primary ballet fees for 1 hour duration at less than $100 for about a term of lessons. Hunt around, you will find affordable ballet lessons. At such young age, little girls should be enjoying ballet lessons. My little gal requested for ballet class when she was 4 and to me it’s a good exposure experience for her. The ballet teacher must have chemistry with young children and passion to teach ballet to little learners.

From where you buy your ballet attire. It’s just a biege hi-cut and non-visible-panty-line panty… So the panty doesn’t show at the sides and it doesn’t cut into the skin.

For cc ballet, Joo Chiat is very popular. Yes, cc fees are about 1/3 of the private school fees.

For cc, the standard varies because they are by different schools. Choa Chu Kang has very good ballet at the CC too.

Please note for ballet classes at cc, do not sign up immediately. I remembered the first time I brought my child down to let the ballet teacher assess if my child is ready to learn. Upon the advise of the ballet teacher, you can speak to her and observe how she conducts her class. If you like it then you sign up your child.

Sometimes the ballet classes are reserved for existing students and do not accept new students. Parents have to take note of this.

After the ballet fee is paid, the child can purchase the ballet attire, shoes from the ballet teacher who will take the child’s measurement. Prepare about -$100+ for the ballet costume and stocking/ballet socks & shoes.

Regarding my child’s ballet class at the CC, I do not wish to disclose the location via pm. Thank you. You may search for ballet classes at one.pa.gov.sg

I have seen 7, 8 or 9 years old girls learning ballet for first time in my child's ballet class which is meant more for K1/K2 children. If the older child does not feel conscious that she is learning ballet together with children turning 5 or 6 years old, it should be fine to let her learn.

Hi, can I check for RAD grade 1 exam, girls are allowed to wear tights instead of socks? Pink?

Also, I read that at grade 1, they also will need to buy character skirt and shoe. Is that only required when you go for coaching class?

The standard exam attire for grade 1 and grade 2 requires socks, not tights.

Yes, they will do character dance and thus the need for character skirt and shoes. The teacher will advise when you need to get… But most of the time, the teacher will take the girls’ measurements and make the order for the class.
