Microwave oven- get it or not?
-
My trusty Panasonic microwave oven finally called it quits on me today.
It has been with me for almost 10 yrs and I have churned out many a meals in that oven.
I am so out of touch and I need help. I need a 'large-ish' capacity oven that will allow me not only to microwave but to bake and grill as well. Which brand and model should I look at. What are the differences in the technology like steam and what have you now. Are there any microwave ovens out there that has tiers for baking these days?
Many thanks! Need to get replacement fast. -
Hi Funz,
I'm using Sharp Steam Oven. It steam, grill, bake and microwave
Cheers -
thanks heyhoe.
I got the Sharp steam oven as well. My sis recommended that too. The sales person at Best Denki was pushing that model as well. I wanted one with a larger capacity but could not find one that truly fits what I want so settled with the Sharp.
So far, working well. Have not started baking with that oven yet. Will try soon. -
Great, happy baking!
I just use it to grill \"Siu Yuk\" - success
By the way, you may want to check Sharp website for the free demonstration class. Plus, they'll teach you a few recipe on how to use the Sharp Healsio. I learnt how to bake banana muffin and chicken chop too. -
Ha, yah they gave me the place to go for cooking and baking classes. I have 1/2 a mind to send my maid for the classes.

My microwave conked out too .
Have you tried the baking in the Sharp Steam oven. How good is it - as good as the electric?
appreciate any advise... -
I thought microwave if leaking (we cannot see the leaks) can cause cancer? :scratchhead: so better don't use, right?

Thanks ngl2010, I have unplugged immediately and removed it to be sure the maid doesnt use it too. Its abt 6 yrs old and time to get a new one. Which one ??
Ahhh, i hate to do research for each and everything :faint: -
Funz,
May I know how much you paid for the steam oven?
Thanks -
Am using the Sharp Water Over AX1500V 31L capacity.
So far so good. Been baking, roasting and grilling with it. As with any ovens, took a few tries to know it better.
I even tried steaming with it but it took longer than using a wok over a stove.
Cannot remember how much I paid for it though.
