No Problem is problem

Kids should come second…unfortunately, a lot of times when the kids arrive, the spouse becomes second. Then when they grow up and leave the nest, spouses lose touch with one another.
Now that I don’t have any maids, there is less stress as compared to the time when there was one. Husband and wife must work together and build a strong relationship for the children to grow up happy and healthy. -
3Boys:
3boys... have always looked up to your words of wisdom. :salute:Spouse first, kids second. Trust me, much better for the family.....
The foundation of a strong family is the relationship between husband and wife. That needs an investment of time and effort. As for the kids, there will never be enough time to do everything you need to do for them. Sometimes clothes will have to be left undried, homework undone, lunch boxes unfilled. Too bad, the brats will live, but if you don't dedicate time to the DW/DH, the relationship won't.
It is nice to have a man's perspective of things. :celebrate: So that,
we (women) can learn... to get you guys eat out of our hands. Ahakz!
Niwaes, 2 quick questions.
Have you never had disputes/misunderstandings with your spouse at all?
Has it always been your (hers and yours
) mantra on the spouse 1st thingy? Psst... i'm working on this mantra since the past year & yes
 it does seem to be working nicely.. .. needs more work but
i like how things are now. Plus staying on our own was the best decision
EVER.. should've done it sooner.. but then, i suppose things happen for
a reason ba..
I agree with the last part, the brats will live. Hahahaa! :rotflmao:
But only diff is, my brats are roped in to get all the jobs done. -
Hi buds,
There will always be brats…hahaha but as they grow, I will make them do housework like washing bowls and helping with cleaning/tidying up. Then my son will help out with housework when he gets married in future…cannot repeat the mistake his paternal grandmother made with her precious sons. -
Sounds like 3boys and his wife will be Mr and Mrs Lee "Model couple of the century" number 2. thumbs up

Yes, yes, I totally agree. Most if not all daughters have a special place in daddies' hearts. DD is a good example. Not only does DH dote on her, even my FIL also loves and dotes on her like the daughter he never has.
Eagle-Ladybird:
aiya, you all should learn from my daugther. She's so good in having me in her pocket, that my wife openly complains about it - that I have double-standard, that she can do no wrong, and that daddy will do anything for her, and so on . . . .
but then, it's known that daughters have a special place in daddies's heart, right ? -

so true! both my daughters have me wrapped around their pinkies.
if only mummies can do this, \"tender grass\" out there will surely wither and die.
unfortunately, that is not the case,
as they can be seen growing all over the place in Singapore these days. -
Hi buds,
no lah, definitely not model couple. We both have our faults, but we are blessed with supportive parents who help cover child-minding, and thankfully are financially stable. Both these elements help a lot.
Certainly we have had our disputes and occasions of deep freeze, but very very very few that have escalated to tears or shouting. Deep down, I love my wife intensely and I kinda think she feels the same way, and we ALWAYS make time for each other, it just seems natural. One thing we have promised each other is never to take each other for granted.
All cliches I know, but they apply. I can only give advice from my heart on this, which is that you have to place your spouse FIRST. The mum is more at risk of becoming embroiled in 24/7 child-minding, which in my book is a big mistake and possibly one of the worst things you can do for your family. -
Hi dunnoleh,
Is it becos men like women/girls who know how to \"sa jiao\", so those wives who can \"sa jiao\" to their hubbies tend to have their hubbies wrapped around their pinkies?

I'd surrender unconditionally to my daughters' \"sa jiao\" , just like to DW 20+ years ago.
I think it is an integral component of the female DNA, programmed to execute from the age of 2, right?

DD has DH and FIL wrapped around her chubby fingers, tight tight.
Both families have been living in banana plantations for 24+ years until DD, a precious gem of the female persuasion popped!
For now, she runs the show
