I am fine with JC or poly....
Must it be JC? Many young people these days prefer to go to poly as there are many more interesting courses offered, and there is still the opportunity to go on to university after that if they do well and are interested. Job opportunities for poly grads are good too, better than students with just A levels. I feel it's better to let kids know that there are range of options open to them rather than aim them at a particular path. That way, if they choose to do something different, or they are unable to get into a specific path, they won't feel so demoralised. It doesn't mean they won't work hard anyway.FishFingers:
Yeah,I have no problems as long as they study hard and get into the JC of their choice after their O Levels.Too bad the JC at my side is merging. My alma mater is also merging too.
Told them if they wanted to follow in my footsteps of being in the military or just be it just work in a normal job or in the civil sector, they have my support.
Students don't really look to go to their parents' JCs do they? Neither of my kids had the remotest desire to go to mine, and 1 daughter is in her father's JC by chance, not by design. It's more a case of which one they can get in, and which one offers them the subject combination they prefer.
My wife is the one who wishes them more to go to JC particularly VJC.Actually, she was quite insistent in putting the girls both in St Nicks but after reading the advice here given by parents here, she thought that it would be better to give them less pressure by putting them in Naval Base,Yishun or Canberra Pri instead. -
Hi Fishfingers,
Hubby's eye is still rather red...it's been 4 days already. i've been following doctor's instructions to administer eye drops every 3 hours
your girls will need time to adjust to singapore education system. if they have to take 2 levels down, it's better than having them face PSLE the moment they step into SG school...less stress on your pregnant wife too. don't think too far beyond secondary school for now. after mugging o levels, many kids get stressed with this academic route and prefer the poly route which offers more practical subjects.
when your #3 is born, wife will be on maternity leave. she can coach the girls during that period when her mum and aunt are around to look after the newborn. -

I dunno what to do if my wife gave birth to another pair of twin girls instead.
I was wondering if I should continue to go to Australia on my training trip in a few months or stay at home with my wife. -
Janet
Did your hubby experience quite red eyes during his last retina detachment? -
FishFingers:
think you mentioned the trip will help you in your career. i would think just go for it. dont think you will be able to help that much when the baby still inside the womb. you will be very busy when the baby is born.

if twins run in your/wife's family, another set might be expected. wow! if 2 pregnancies turn out to be multiples, then you will 4. with your MIL and her sister helping out, it should be ok for you to attend your training since there is nothing you can do. with another mouth to feed, you will need to attend this training even more as it will help in your career as what MrsKiasu mentioned.
