      Hi sleepy,

I don't know what approach the school is using...all I know is the approach is not in line with P1 now. Sentence rearrangement for Chinese is rather tough at K2 level. As for 听写, I will just teach her to write the easier ones...maybe one page for each one. The impt thing now is to 认字.
Have you heard of this book 'Zhi Xing Hua'? I find it interesting & useful in 认字

She doesn't want to read and spell properly and she takes her own sweet time to do things. Be it bathing, writing or eating, I always have to give her a timeline. Really want to bang my head on the wall. :frustrated:

And if she can't read, she can't do any Maths questions either or read instructions. Any suggestions? TIA!
Hi my daughter read your thread and she asked me to write this to help your dd get out of her current state. She suggested that you put up a \"rewards\" chart and you assign stars when she has done well for the day (be it behavior or homework or reading). She can use this to exchange for rewards according to the number of stars she has (eg. 5 stars for 1 small toy; 10 stars for something more valuable to her and so on).

P.S. I did this to my dd when she was 4 and she is still begging me to repeat this for her at times. I guess we sometimes need to take a break and have a more innovative way of getting things to work (I know how you feel, we just feel so tired of nagging but if we don't nag, then we end up feeling even more exasperated when things are not done)

          Nope. Pls advise publisher.
Just looking at her 听写 list made me even more laid-back because it just doesn't make sense for me to get pressured to get her to write those characters. What's the point ?

Oh yes, next Tuesday's 听写 is 上衣, 长裤,纽扣 袖子. Any mummies here encounter such characters for K2 ?

This is what my boy's school 听写 for K2 :动物园,圣淘沙,鱼尾狮,飞禽公园, 国旗,庆祝国庆,我爱新加坡, 八月九日。 They'll have to learn 4 words weekly and i've hard time teaching him. He'll cry everytime when comes to his 听写. I try not to force him but it makes me angry when he starts crying everytime when i gets him to learn his 听写.

OMG  your boy's 听写 is so much more scary.
Not only have to teach the bi3 hua4 but each and every other character as well!!! Your son has a phobia for 听写 already. Is the kindergarten teacher crazy or what ?

How old is your dd now? You have a younger one going P1 next year? 😄
