Hi
For the safety of your dd and others, it will be good if you report the case to school. -
Yes, please report to the school for the safety of all our children.

Hi, just want to alert parents of what my dd encounter on her way home fr sch today. As she was walking to the mrt via Tiong Bahru park, a man grabbed her by her arm and tried to drag her along, insisting that she is in need of help (lost?) and to follow him to report police. My girl being timid and small built did not shout for help or put up any struggle, only replied him no. Fortunately a lady happen to walk towards them & the man let go of her & walked away. The kind lady did ask my girl whether is she ok and if she knew the man. My dd's new friends do not go via that direction, but with lots of students walking the same path, such incidents still happened! Guess he targets those who are alone. Beware.
Hi august24,
My dd is not from GESS. Sorry to barge in but reading your dd's encounter, ... I find it really scary and very worrying. Pls ask your dd not to walk via that route again on her own. Thank goodness that lady walks by at the right time. Maybe you shd make a police report besides reporting to school. -
August24,
Thanks for the alert.
Although my dd is not from the school but it is imperative to teach our dds to stay vigilant and alert at all times.
I hope your dd is feeling better and can forget the traumatizing experience.
Take care. -

Thanks elkniwt, GLORYmum and tearsforfears for your concern, dd is fine. I have reported the incident to the sch this morning. I understand that the sch has always been working closely with the neighbourhood police, and they will alert the NPP on this incident. Dd will take a different (but longer) route with her friends from now.

Hi there.....my DD has been posted to GESS to kick-start her Sec 1 in GESS
Any parents with kids in Cannoeing and Band? -
Checking in. DS will be joining gess sec 1 next year. This thread is super quiet compared to others. Gess parents not kiasu? LOL
Hello belle_116! Which class will yr Dd be in? We are in 1D

Actually gess is not our first choice. But what to do? Not many choices in bukit merah for this range of score. Any feedback from parents / current students abt the school? We bought our stationery and all uniforms (including PE) from school today. Fuss free, everything was packed in bundles, just grab and go. Bookshop is very organised! Very different experience compared to our primary school. School did a good job managing the bookshop. Hopefully we experience more good things!
