Was at IMM last night. Saw Maxims there. There is also a low-sugar for those with diabetes. Not bad.

Wanted to buy 1 mooncake because my family doesn't have sweet tooth but I must eat Maxims every year. The one which is sold individually has 3 egg yolks but it's bigger. I have a craze for Maxims mooncake box. 😉

Went Taka yesterday & bought a box of mooncake from Hang Heung. Love it as it is not too sweet & the paste is smooth.

Didn't know Meixin is also from HK, didn't try it. 😞

Just to update, today I ordered 2 Cat Mountain durian mooncakes from Peony Jade. Saw their brochures which says this was very popular and sold out in 2009! Covered with organic pandan snow-skin. Tried some too, yum yum! The salesgirl said they don't mix in anymore sugar into the durian paste it is pure durian so I figured out the price @ SGD15 per piece should be worth it?

Also bought 2 traditional plain mooncakes low-sugar and told them to put into those 2-piece box. One for my MIL the other for ourselves!

Nearer to the festival I will be collecting the Da Thong mooncakes from chinatown and also expecting some from my sister-in-law.

Today ate Li Bai mooncakes in the office gift from some business associates.

Guess the above should be enough for me this Mooncake Festival 2010!
            :celebrate:

Love the peony jade durian mooncakes.

Another must-try is Fairmont's champagne truffle with white ganache. have polished up 1 box, Will get another box tomorrow 🙂

On the other hand, Chocolate mooncakes from Ritz carlton just so-so.

                Hi Everyone,

The lantern festival is round the corner. This year I tried a new creation. Ferrero Rocher snowskin mooncake! Everyone, especially the kids love it. The recipe is easy so try it and have fun with your kids!

Kudos mummyyuki, that's sounds and look tasty already. Very innovative indeed. And a 'wow' to your blog, you log in so many recipes..good investment for your children.

This year as of to date, I mainly bought the imports from Hongkong. Hang Heung and The HongKong Peninsula. No, not eaten yet so can't tell the taste.

There's this particular brand which I think is local, produces very good yam paste/yam paste w pumpkin mooncakes. They make and sell on the spot. Very popular (crowds) and the taste is super. Very well made in looks too, the layers are so fine that makes it impossible to count. So you can imagine the crispness of the skin.

As it is not recommended to keep for long period, so it is best to buy nearer the date or eat it as soon as you bought it. Oh I forgot..the name is \"zhen wei\"? (Sorry...I threw away the box already) at Taka atrium B2.

I tried a few mooncakes and would like to tell all of you not to buy Goodwood Park’s anniversary mooncake - the Almond Longan Tofu snowskin mooncake. It’s quite yucky actually. I bought 2 and it tastes worse than the real longan tofu. The skin is too mushy, the jelly inside has too many ice crystals and when you leave it outside to thaw, the ice crystals melt into water and soak the snowskin. Still have one in my freezer…Eeew
