Downtown East incident....
-
I read with horror too..such violence. Condolences to the poor boy's family, so hard to bring up a kid especially in SG and just gone like that.
-
Yeah, horrifying....
Just last week DD had their school party post PSLe there. Scary.
My heart goes out to the parents.

Hope our new Home Affairs minister will add pressure and set things right… catch all the BENG gang accomplices and eradicate the whole BENG gang.

youngster moving around with weapons (knives)? tat’s scary!
whatever it is, that’s is somebody’s child. A life can be taken just like that! Sad! -
Things that are always tell my kids :
1. Don’t speak or laugh loudly in public places.
2. Shut up and disappear to a crowded place if they notice another group is eyeing them. -
Shopowners who sell knives need to pay more attention to the clientele. If see a few angry youths buying knives one after another, shld call to alert the police.
PC games designers need to do their society duty. Film writers as well. These pple need to learn not to release their own set of stress into the work they are doing. Whatever happen to those simple PAC Man games.
When my #2 was a toddler, he saw my elder boy playing a PC game titles Battle-on. Both ended up more violent and subsequently this game was banned at home.
I feel that whenever thugs are caught, the police shld do a survery of how many of them played violent PC games or watched violent movies, then from there published the results. Let the public decide how much more of these we need in our society. Like smoking, educate the public the dangers. -

\"Murder of teen at Downtown East mistaken for Halloween prank\"
Dunno cry or laugh...
Cry wolf 2 many times... with the recent (backfired) guerilla marketing campaigns... until public also become sceptical liao... -
I read TNP just now.
I cried.
For the victim and his family.
For the innocent children and their families who were fleeing in fear.
Very very sad -
It is sad that a young life is lost in such a brutal and senseless manner. Violent crimes have been creeping up lately. Singapore does not feel safe any more.

Agree, parents play an important part in shaping a child's character and values. Next are the schools and society at large.
Depends on how their lawyers fight?mrswongtuition:

murder is death sentence, right ?
Might be reduced to manslaughter?
And if they are underage, I think it's only reformatory centre?
So sad that these youths resort to violence so easily.
Too much violent shows/games?
i don't think it is games/shows. just bad upbringing mostly.[/quote]
