Way2GO:
Saying ISpark is for high achievers is not quite accurate.
In HCI they got 4 consortium (groups). iSpark is the consortium for those from GEP or high achiever. They'll be together till Yr4.syshi:

What is ispark? :?
The rest of students will be divided into the other 3 consortiums.
ISpark is for Geppers n those strong in Maths, they use different Maths textbooks fr d other 3 consortiums.
Not exactly base on Maths. Understand they base on GAT performance during DSA. I know of anther consortium house a lot of Math Olympiad talent also. Coincidentally, many GEPpers are also Math talents but in ispark. -
Share an interesting finding by my DS, however, am not sure if his anlaysis is correct. During the RI interview, the boys are seated in row of 3. He happened to be seated in the center. He discovered that the boy seated on his right has higher score than him & the one on the left score lower than him. So being curious, he checked with his classmates who had gone for RI interview and guess the position that they were arranged & his guessed was correct.
He told me that he had been hearing abt RI grouping their students by results. He then jokingly said that they even do so for interview session.

hmm...may be,haha... but on what purpose leh? interview is talking wat,... may be their master namelist is sorted and affect the others' arrangement, but does not mean anything lor. Then does it mean those went for interview on the first day has the highest result? -
yukilei:
Yes, I think you are right. According to what my DS told me last year, he can't choose to sit anywhere he wanted. The seats were pre-allocated. If not most of the students will want to take the \"center\" seat.Share an interesting finding by my DS, however, am not sure if his anlaysis is correct. Agreed its not solely based on strength in Maths but it is a selection criteria.

d Maths texts used r more advanced than d other 3 consortiums.
As I understand it, Geppers don't take GAT for DSA selection in HCI,
so how is GAT performance a basis unless u r referring to d mainstream students who r selected for ISpark.
Concur with u about concentration of specific 'talents' in consortium. -

Is dat so? An interesting observation.Share an interesting finding by my DS, however, am not sure if his anlaysis is correct. During the RI interview, the boys are seated in row of 3. oops, .. was referring to those mainstremers who were put in ispark. By default all GEPpers fall in ispark. All students regardless which consortium they are from they get to meet in CCA and many school base activities. Even project team could be form from diff consortium members.

nope, it's just within the row. Not necessary first day with highest result cos his classmates with higher score had the interview after him. But i agree that this does not mean anything. Just that he find it funny if it's true cos RI is so result oriented in that sense.
You mean the attendance sheet comes with their result?yukilei:

GoodDad what other school U applied other than HCI. how was your DSA experience. NUSH I am sure dont see % .
My DS applied for RI, HCI and ACSI.
Yes, My DS applied for HCI. Silver award in SMPOS was nothing, hundreds of them out there. School team player did not help either. I guess not becuase of the interview/test, DS interview session lasted for almost 40mins and the interview was done both in English and Chinese. It was the SA1 result was the most important factor.GoodDad:
You mean RI/RGS? How about HCI/NY? Any GEPpers not shortlisted for DSA?
In GoodDad's case it seems that GEPper with SMOPS and school team player does not help in the HCI DSA (am assuming his ds applied for HCI?) or could his interview/test the main cause ?
My DS classmate, has nothing outstanding in his profile. SA1-83%. COs from RI, HCI, ACSI and NUSH. -

Now dat Yukilei brought up d seating arrangement according to results,You mean the attendance sheet comes with their result?

I wondered too r results a basis for timing of interview dates?
Wat I noticed on d day of my DS's interview, each group of three was fr different schools.
