DSA 2012

MotherHen:
How about the GEP girls? Any \"cut-off\" for successful DSA to RGS/NYGH? Seems that many GEP girls have done quite well, so will the benchmark be pushed up to 80+%?
There is no benchmark. Generally, if you score <80%, you'll have to sit for GAT. If you score >80%, you may not need to sit for GAT and may proceed directly to the interview stage. At this stage, whether you're offered a CO or not depends on how well you do in the interview. Scoring >80% doesn't guarantee you a CO.
If you have read last 2 years posts you will understand that RI only issue CO(confirm offer) for those GEP boys with P6 SA1 result above 80%. (last year there were students who scored 80.x only offer a WL)
In summary, if a GEP boy P6 SA1 result between 77.5% - 80%, most likely he will be offer a WL(Waiting List). Below 78% most likely will be rejected. -

But score <77% very slim chance.

Base on last 2 -3 years DSA result. To what I know, none GEP students who scored <77% gotten a CO from RI who applied via the GEP domain.
So GEP's parent, be prepare and set expectation right. -
Thank you Herbie, GoodDad and jtoh
.
Will probably sit down with DD to send in the online application for RGS tonight, since deadline is this Friday (for GEP domain). Then just hope for the best. -
So the SA1 result mentioned is based on the combined of CA plus SA1 result or the SA1 result alone?

SA1 for GEP is the result of the first 6 months. It is printed in the report books. -

Am I right to say that no point for mainstream students to try academic DSA, even their SA1 result is 90% & above? They will not be given a chance to sit for the test nor interview? Academic DSA is for GEP students only. Mainstream students could only apply for Sport DSA.

Do they have such cut-off in the past as 80% also? Should think so ya...
If you have read last 2 years posts you will understand that RI only issue CO(confirm offer) for those GEP boys with P6 SA1 result above 80%. There is no academic DSA at RI, mainstreamer has to indicate a domain of their talent, be it maths, science, sport or language .
