Something must be changed at PSLE level

Hi, I do not think there is something wrong with the primary education or PSLE. It is natural that PSLE benifits the early bloomers. Solving problems with models is a very good training for primary school students. Besides, they really have difficulty in understanding algebra.

MOE is to blame to form such kind of IP programs because it is the IP program that exclude most of the late bloomers from the IP-based junior colleges.

Know of two students from same neighbourhood schools in the north. Both hve ordinary PSLE scores, did well in their 0-level and scored seven distinctions in 2009 A-level exam. Both had obtained max unis rank pt-90.

Our system allows for late bloomers. No worries.

Totally agree with Innovate. There are many paths to success. IP or Non IP , A level or IB Diploma etc etc....the goal is to enter a good Uni and a good faculty.

Help! :?: My kids are 12 years old this year and will be having their PSLE this year. According to their Primary 5 SA2 results, they will get at least 240. We live in the north. Any secondary schools to recommend? Thank you.

Have you tried MOE's School Information Service website at http://app.sis.moe.gov.sg/schinfo/index.asp? It helps you identify a school using different search parameters such as location, PSLE T-score, CCA offered, academic and non-academic achievements, etc.

All the best to your child's PSLE!

Just wondering, how did you estimate the Tscore as 240?

I m trying to choose a secondary school and express course for my daughter who got below 200 for her PSLE in 2011. Is there any good choices? Looking at Woodlands, CCK and Upper Bukit Timah area…
