      peh-boo:

anyone got any taboo stuff - out-of-bound hands-off stuff - which u have set with ur kids?
few of the strict rules at home to be observed at all times
      - kids cannot hang used clothings in their bedrooms - hygiene purpose
      - all shoes to be kept onto the shoe rack - housekeeping purpose (supposedly FS purpose too)
      - keep the toilet lid and toilet door of the common toilet closed at all times - hygiene purpose (supposedly FS purpose too).

taboo stuff, only ds1 understands; ie no asking of weird questions or talking nonsense or talk loudly when walking pass funeral wake at void deck. once, he asked me if they were having a celebration.

as my ds1 freaks out quite a bit with regards to taboo practices/stuff, i usually use a practical explanation (like above) to get him to follow some of my rules.

never place ur bed where the door is n never sleep with legs facing the door or mirror - they said very suay one.

omg...my bed (head) is directly beside the door, is it still counted? O.O

anyways, here's to share some stuff about hotels that I've heard from people.

-Always knock the door before you go in.
-Once you enter, say politely that you're gonna borrow the room for whatever number of days and say thank you.
-Never place your shoes neatly, it's said that it's easier for 'them' to wear the shoes.
-Place stuff/objects on unoccupied beds or seats, so as to not let them be occupied by 'them'.

            beside the door, still ok....
so long the bed is not inline with the door's entrance, so as when lying down the legs are not facing the door.
best position as i was told is the farthest end diagonally,
able to see the door but not inline with.

              oh.....for this, i had a \"strange encounter\" when i was in one of the hotel's room.....
i could see the images of the movement of my bedroom slippers, (i was lying on the bed)
after which i remembered this saying, i quickly moved my slippers,
placing one of them upside down.
immed i woke my hub up, but he could not see anything after i had moved my slippers
and he din believe what i had seen 😢

the Taoists have strong belief of Taboo & superstitious stuffs.

Only the deads are placed facing the main door with legs pointing at it. The coffins of my grandma & dad's are placed facing e house entrance like that in the 2 funeral wakes not long ago. That was taoist ceremony, not sure if Buddhism and other religions do the same way?

We were told since young not to sleep at position with legs directly facing the door, maybe that brings bad luck?
